We had dinner in Le Bistrot du Peintre in September 2017. It is an authentic bistrot dating back to the early 20th century and is located in the Bastille district. The bistrot offers both a lively outdoor seating area and more subdued interior seating in...More

I visited with an old friend (vegetarian) and had a great lunch here. The interior is to be seen to be believed - very art deco, Gaudi-esque. Food is basically the traditional French hearty staples done very well. My buddy took a penne with vegetables,...More

The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, and certainly worth going to see. The food was average, the menu offers a reasonable number of choices. The meal was made special by the professional level of service typically experienced at higher end restaurants.

Always a stop for us and never disappointed. New fall 2017 menu in place, still with some solid standbys. Very good wines, and friendly service.

Really friendly staff, I had the salmon and it was gorgeous, my mum had the chicken and said it was just good. But overall a pleasant evening, and the house red was amazing!

I have been visiting this place for the past 12 years. Every time I come to Paris it is part of my stops. The marrow is a classic! With a pot de rouge!

The food is very good, we tried the matured entrecote and it was excellent. I also liked very much the andouillette and the bone marrow with toast. Good wines, good prices and cheerful staff. Nice atmosphere!

Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made
for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming
bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s
at night this area really comes to life. Students and
young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille
and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock
to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait
for coveted tickets during the day. Towards
