We fell in love with Ile Saint-Louis years ago and have rented an apartment on the island for two weeks in late Spring or early Fall during the last six years. We first reviewed L'Orangerie in 10/2013. We very much enjoyed the decor, ambience, service...More

I like going to Paris from time to time, and when I'm there I always like to visit with a friend of mine whom I've known some 40 years and who has worked there for about as long, since we first met in in the...More

This was the only restaurant that was recommended to us by relatives recently returned from Paris. And we are so glad we listened to their advice. Set on a quaint side street on Île Saint-Louis, this place epitomizes the word charming. Our reservation was made...More

Outstanding sauces made our duck and lamb dishes both superb, and the Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine we had was fabulous (although I would have preferred it be served in more appropriate stemware). What made this place particularly outstanding was the service. Our server was friendly and attentive...More

Impressionist Monet designed his very own very impressive museum along the Seine in Paris. He painted 60-foot murals of sunrise and sunset and water lilies and weeping willows. The upper level is entirely Monet with other artists featured on the lower level. Highly recommend! I...More

This place looks inviting and cozy, romantic and it's all three. Our welcome was warm and friendly - we'd booked the day before - and our table was large and nicely set. We waited quite a while for menus and it seemed that they were...More

Very sad and disappointed at the way this restaurant went down hill after s many years of wonderful food and service. Whatever happened to it?

After a day of hiking around Paris, we ended here with our granddaughter for a real meal rather than pizza or sandwiches on the run. The waiter was charming and the endive salad was delicious. The fixed menu choices were varied enough to meet all...More

We spent an enjoyable New Year's Eve 2014 at L'Orangerie. The food was excellent and the Maitre D' very welcoming. We returned tonight but our impression is that the restaurant is a shadow of its former self. We made an online booking but there appeared...More

Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very
heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité,
sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of
Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the
site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held
before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic
Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the
Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island,

We've made reservations at L'Orangerie but were informed by a friend who has been there that men need to wear a jacket. Is that the case since we're trying to travel light with carry-on luggage for a two week trip.

No, it's a relaxed and friendly place, we were a bit dressed up and I think my husband wore a jacket because we'd just been to a concert but I seem to remember other people were more informally dressed. That said I wouldn't... More

I don't think this is the case. We were there in July and the weather was hot. My husband wore an open necked shirt to dinner at L'Orangerie. We had a great night; hope you enjoy it too.

One reviewer mentioned a "laundry room." Is there a washing machine and dryer on the premises?
