We tried L'Orenoc during our stay at The Meridien hotel, as it is located in the lobby. It serves absolutely great food! The service is swift and very friendly, the wines are impressive (didn't expect any less in the capital of wine!) and the prices are very good compared to the quality of what you're served. If you'er staying at... More

It's interesting to see such a quiet and warm place right in one of the busiest hotel lobbies in Paris. Food is really good and so is the atmosphere. Service is top notch. A little pricey, but not excessive given it's location.

A very nice decor, interesting and original food options with exotic inspiration form various parts of the world. They stay open rather late and the service is very pro, friendly and efficient. Prices as expected in such a place (restaurant at an expensive hotel), but globally worthwhile.

On our final night in Paris we decided we would visit a Jazz club and have a nice dinner beforehand. The Jazz Club we chose appeared to be located round the corner from this restaurant. What I didn't realise when researching was that they were both in the same hotel. The food was very good, but we could see people... More

We just came back from a trip to Europe, during that time I celebrated my 50th birthday in Paris. I did a lot of research before we left trying to decide which restaurant to have my party in. We were going to stay at the Meridien Etoile, so I looked at reviews on their restaurant, L'Orenoc. It seemed like a... More

Description
l’Orenoc restaurant in Paris’ Le Meridien Etoile at Porte Maillot is an exotic, luxurious eaterie in which to enjoy superbly original culinary creations. Named for Venezuela’s main river, l’Orenoc has a colonial air, decorated in all the colours of South America and Africa, with carved wood elephants, dark wood tables and seating, vividly coloured carpeting and table settings, and intriguing artefacts from around the world. Award-winning chef Claude Colliot enjoys particular renown for the inventiveness of his cooking that still respects the flavours of the simple ingredients. There are dishes like prawn tartare with lime, flat-leaf parsley, saffroned citrus jus and blinis, or sea bream cooked in its skin with fondant aubergines, orange and cinnamon with grilled peanuts. Smiling service, well-spaced tables and an unbeatable jazz room almost next door make l’Orenoc an unbeatable choice for great evenings out.
