on a very cold and wet day we got the last table in the window and drank a glass of port whilst watching all the Parisians eating their lunch. the place is small but surprising intimate for where it is and the food and decor is exactly what we looking for 'very French'. found it hard to leave.

This is about a smallish meal with an outstanding selection of bordeaux wines. For me, it is the perfect lunch or place for a small meal at the end of a day and lovely glass or bottle of bordeaux. Food is selected perfectly to suit the wines: fresh, delicious charcuterie, fromage, smoked fresh salmon+lentilles, liver pate, pasta with foie gras,... More

We went to L'Ecluse for dinner. It was OK, nothing special. The wine features Bordeaux and the list is satisfactory, nothing outstanding on it. There is a garden at the rear which would be very nice in warm weather.

A perfect place for some real good french food. Their wine selection is excellent. And the chocolate cake is divine!

Louis Henry their Director was amazing. Great wine options and the daily bottle was delicious. Treated us very well and the cheese plate is delicious. Highly recommend a visit.

It's their cheese platter that I first tried 3 years back and since then every time I am in Paris I have one lunch there, also ordering the cheese platter. The selection of cheese is not fixed, and each year it's different. I think it's the season, availability, etc. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I like this small place,... More

Landed in the morning after a sleepless overnight flight from the states, walked the streets of Paris so as not to miss a moment and not to fall asleep too early on the first night, and wound up at L'Ecluse much earlier than Parisians are looking to eat dinner. This restaurant specializes in the wines of Bordeaux, and has offerings... More

After a long day and late lunch, we were looking for a friendly spot for salad, cheese plate and wine. Louis-Henri Doulet is the Director who waited our table. Fabulous service! His wine recommendations were perfect with our food selections. Portions were large so they even wrapped our leftover cheese so we could take for picnic next day. Highly recommend.... More

Dined here for lunch with a friend who loves the cafe. I ordered the steak tartare, which was very tasty and rich as usual. Serving size is generous yet the menu is overpriced relative to other options in the city. I enjoyed the experience, yet I probably would not return given the plethora of choices around town.

We stopped here for a glass of wine, seeing the charming facade on the Place de la Madeleine. Inside, the place needs a bit of work; the interior looked a little more like a pub than a wine bar. There's a greenhouse room at the back that's charming, but again, it could use some freshening up. Just an average number... More
