The place in the Marais is tiny, 8 tables all squeezed together and steaks being prepared on a huge plate hanging on a big, open fireplace. Atmosphere is nice, service a good mix of personable, friendly and Parisian attitude. Escargot was nice and steak flavorful served with rock salt and some mustard that really packs a punch. Creme brullee nice... More

We came here on Valentine's day and the food was very good with no hike up in prices. The steaks are cooked to perfection on the open fire grill and the vegetables were done very well. Unfortunately some of the waiters are not the friendliest, one of them scoffed at our wine choice but then would not suggest anything better!... More

Fun and very good Marais Steak house. But... Unfortunately, We are pretty sure that bartender/server stole our cell phone off of the bar while creating a crashing glass diversion. Of course we can't prove it but highly likely. My guess is the bartender/server hates Americans. As customers we got a sense of his disdain. Watch out for your stuff here.... More

We came across this small bistro by accident but were drawn in by the open fire and sight of meat on the grill. Luckily we got a table as others after us were turned away as it filled up fast. We had delicious steaks, cooked as we asked and served with excellent wine. Get there early or be prepared to... More

If you love meat it's the place to be. Restaurant is a little bit small, but it's typical French Bistrot. Large choice of meat. Well served. Quick services. Wine is not bad, not big choice but alright.

We heard great things about this busy little restaurant. The service and rustic atmosphere were great, sharing our table with another couple we didn't know was fun, escargot were fantastic but the main course and dessert were fine but only fair. There are so many outstanding restaurants in Paris, we felt the hype around this one is what keeps it going.... First of all you will have to book. either by phone or facebook or something. You will need to do it in french as they ignored our first request in English. Secondly, if you do book ask for a table upstairs where all the visual excitement is. Thirdly, the kitchen is basically a fire at the back of the restaurant... More

This was our last meal in Paris. They don't do fancy fussy food. The steak is just cooked and seasoned to perfection. We lucked out and got a table in the front so we had an excellent view of the city. They have a lower level dinning room that I would try to avoid as its dark and a bit... More

Looked charming and was. Got there just after 7PM on Sunday and thought there would be no space for us but nice surprise to be led downstairs which was pretty cool. By 7:30 the place was very busy. Cosy, environment, food very good although plain, cooked very well and service was swift. Enjoyed the meal because they cooked my t-bone... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
