Stopped here on the recommendation of locals we met at lunch a few days earlier. Did not disappoint. Small and cozy in a quiet location. Foie gras appetizer is big enough for 3 people to share. We also enjoyed the veal stew and steak with seared foie gras. Both excellent. House Bordeaux wines were good too. Lots of choices in... More

We had the most enjoyable evening at Restaurant Paul. Escargo, ravioli with chicken, veal stew, liver, and salmon was enjoyed by all four of us. On top of our delicious food, what also made the evening was the staff. They were all professional, courteous, friendly, inviting and warm. We even got a few hugs and a very sincere thank you... Hi Steve stopped in for a bite to eat...Very scary French menu, but wonderful food was gauranteed. I took the steak tartar which, in itself was dull, but with a bottle of mercury 1er cru...Oh delicious....A little more wine left over to some a delightful plate of cheeses and then washed down with a magnificent crème brulé. Highly recommended.. #... More

While in Pairs we were able to eat at about 10 different restaurants and this was our favorite by far. It was a little pricey but the food was AMAZING. I had a sea bass dish and my fiancé had a steak and potato dish. My sea bass was amazing and I was lucky enough to finish off my fiancés... More

This restaurant is in located on a magical place, called Place Dauphine. We have returned there several times, as the food is delicious and the service impeccable. Stephane was our waiter this time, he was humorous, friendly and attentive. We loved the food; it was delicious. The profiteroles are to die for.

First, Place Dauphine is an oasis in the heart of Paris. Paul faces out onto the park and you can almost forget you are in the big city. We had lunch, and the food was outstanding. The wine, while a rose, was excellent even in the Fall, which apparently is inappropriate, according to our server. Which bring us to the... More

We had lunch after touring St. Chapelle on a Saturday. We found this restaurant through the Rick Steve's Paris book. We enjoyed an entree (starter), a main dish and dessert for a cost of around $100, without wine. I ordered the escargot because I wanted to try them in Paris. I was a little disappointed as the snails themselves do... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
