Last minute lunch. Very good, simple food. Not expensive. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Location great - right in the middle of the Marais. But don't try to park!

... something good must be happening inside. Indeed, this neighbourhood mum and pop restaurant was packed full of lunching locals seated cheek by jowel. You sit where they put you at shared tables. The chef comes out to greet everyone. No frills, just hearty home-made French traditional food, whatever is on the blackboard menu. I'll return for dinner, for sure!

It looks like a real Parisian restaurant, and all the other customers seemed to be French, and many were local. But the French onion soup was ghastly, like Bisto thickened with flour. The monkfish en papilotte was without any papilotte, and seemed to have been cooked in plain water, with some tinned tomatoes poured on top. Dreadful. It came to... More

Just eaten here with my daughter celebrating her 21st. Great local food. Simply cooked with attentive service. I wouldn't say it was the cheapest meal that we are going to eat whilst here, but, it will be one of the most authenthic.

What a lovely place with the most genteel service and delicious food, of course, the desserts were wonderful. This restaurant offers the best in Parisien cooking for a very reasonable price.

To celebrate my wife's birthday we went to Paris for 9 days, renting an apartment in Le Marais (Paris 3rd). Walking around the neighborhood we spotted a charming looking restaurant around the corner from our apartment called Chez Nenesse on Rue St. Onge. It is a small family place run by a husband and wife team and open only for... More

What you see is what you get at this unpretentious family run restaurant. It will never get a Michelin star, but if you're looking for well prepared, reasonably priced French cooking served by friendly people in a charming, relaxed environment this is the place to go.

We came here for dinner on the recommendation of the host of our apartment and were not disappointed. Tucked away in the quiet back streets this family run restaurant serves excellent, unpretentious food fait maison. The service was charming and the atmosphere is calm and relaxed. Not expensive by Paris standards either.

Flavoursome, filling and pleasing in every way. Bring your appetite if you plan to make it to dessert. Try not to fill up on bread between courses you will be sad if you miss dessert. Comfortable location away from the main fray, a gem of a find. Not located on a main road. Opens at 7.45pm and there are bars... More

What a wonderful restaurant! We met up with old friends and had a great night here- a relaxed atmosphere which made the night. The food is delicious and the friendly, family service is attentive without being overbearing. The fois gras, quenelles de brochet and chocolate mousse were all amazing! Thank you for making our evening so special.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
