You'll eat so well, that you won't have room in your tummy for another meal. Go for lunch and plan to skip dinner. The jamon iberico was unique and smoky, served with great bread and butter and a big jar of pickles. The Parmesan cheese soup is famous and delicious but super rich. The vegetarian orzo with shaved truffles was... More

We had the opportunity to dine at this tiny, wonderful restaurant while in Paris. Tables are crammed next to one another so hope you get a friendly neighbor like we did. The meal was absolutely spectacular - exactly what you would hope for in a Paris restaurant. The staff was very welcoming. Portions for one were enormous and should be... More

My last visit to Paris was 5 years ago and L’Ami Jean was the restaurant I always want to go back. This time I only have 1 night in Paris I still preferred to go to L’Ami Jean. This is a bistro style restaurant better for a group as they have movable long table setup so always it is very... More

I am not a big eater, so multicourse/tasting menus can often turn into death marches for me. I'd done a lot of research on restaurants and as this was going to be my daughter's first meal in Paris I wanted her to go to a "very French" place, whatever that is. So I picked L'Ami Jean. It was a brilliant... More

Traditional French, great meat dishes in long cooking, excellent cote de boeuf. Friendly service which make you feel at home. English is spoken. Do not plan to make any exercise after dinner. I will be back.

I have been in Paris eating at many restaurants and in general most have been very good . We are used to tight tables which first made me uncomfortable but they actually end up being a positive because of the interaction with locals even with our poor French and their much better English . We were unable to read the... More

just had a business lunch and it far exceeded expectations. We each had a 4 course meal for about 35 euros each. The waitress asked if we had any allergies and away we went. They chose the dishes and all was a complete surprise. When we asked what the dessert was, they wouldn't say and you only knew once it... More

We were traveling from the US and only had a few nights in Paris. I made a reservation online for my husband and myself at L'Ami Jean for Saturday night. The restaurant sent me emails several times, including earlier that day, to confirm. When we arrived, however, the restaurant was closed. We were left on an empty street with nowhere... More

L'Ami Jean is a small restaurant with wooden and mismatched tables, (very) mismatched lamps, very little space, no tablecloth or sets, all this done on purpose to give the restaurant a character, I suppose. Makes for a good ambiance, though. The staff was very nice but I was disappointed by the dinner, probably due to my making the wrong choices.... More
