This wonderful old-fashioned restaurant will make you feel like you are in 1960s' movie: good hearty French cuisine, very sharp well dressed impeccable waiters, wonderful wine and lively buzzing all around you. The mains we got were average (don't take pork foot) and confit de canard can be cooked better, but the desserts and cheese are great, and the prices... More

Typical French dishes may be tasted here such as duck foie gras terrine, 'escargot', prawns with mayonnaise, beef steaks and many others. The service is quite good but not excellent, and the room is well-furnished and characterized by a very soft light.

The food is basic, but the food is not the reason to visit this restaurant. It is the 'belle epoque' feeling that is still alive in this busy forefather of Macdonalds.

This is a real gem and certainly not an experience to be missed when visiting Paris. Great atmosphere and good food at reasonable prices. Dessert was gorgeous.

This restaurant serves up inexpensive but traditional French cuisine that was originally popular to the working French. The waiters here are properly dressed, service is always good, food is always served prompt and properly prepared. Your order and bill is written directly on the tablecloth, so when you get your check, the server mentally calculates the cost of your bill... More

A Paris institution conveniently located steps from the Grands Boulevards metro station. Serves traditional French cuisine in an amazing 19th century dining room. Note that, unless you are a large group, you will be seated at tables next to strangers - but this is part of the fun. Menu is quite extensive and VERY CHEAP. Get here early (18.30) to... More

This restaurant is very famous, we had to queue for 30 minutes but it was worth it! It is a typical French restaurant. If you are only two people you may be sat next to strangers, it's such an interesting and wonderful experience! The food was really good too although a little bit pricey. I would totally recommend this restaurant!

This was a very good discovery. When we entered we were directed to a chaired table. The waiter was very friendly. You get a large choice of very different plates. This is cheap! Exciting interior. Back in time, but so enjoyable. Sit and enjoy the food here. Their will be no hole in your wallet, and you'll be happy that... More

This is a restaurant over 100 years old. You should definetely visit for at least one time during your holiday. Do not give up if you see a long queue in front of the door, you will not wait that long. Food is traditional. Soups are starting from 1 euros, main dishes are around 10 euros, which is cheap for... Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
