This restaurant definitely lived up to expectations based on other reviews. The decor is charmingly rustic without overdoing it and quiet without feeling like you have to whisper. We were the only English speaking patrons that evening and they treated us very nicely without any condescension. They start off with a free appetizer of pork pate and country bread which... More

I took three colleagues here on a Saturday night on the basis that I had visited a few years before and the memory of their superb salade de lentilles had stayed with me ever since. I was glad we had booked as others were being turned away at the door. I ordered the same starter which was amazing once again... More

I organized a dinner party for a significant birthday of mine during a holiday in Paris, and did a lot of research beforehand to choose a restaurant with the right combination of quality food and wine, ambiance, history and service. Eventually I settled on the Ambasade d'Auvergne and it turned out to be wonderful choice. The arrangements were made over... More

We reserved the table in advance in this restaurant and got an absolutely wonderful settings. You might find more upscale places in Paris, but when it comes to balance between the price, ambiance, quality of food and service, it is very tough if possible at all to beat this restaurant. Waiter was very courteous, funny with great sense of humor,... More

Not your fancy modern style of place, but really great regional fare proudly cooked in a lovely old fashioned setting. And all at very reasonable prices - overall excellent value.

The Ambassade d'Auvergne, for a fancy French restaurant, is very affordable and has delicious food. The staff were very accommodating to us, who don't speak much French, and were very helpful. The food was amazing, and the delicacies of Auvergne are worth giving a try. As all will tell you, the mousse is delicious . . . and has quite... More

Superb food and service! We had the best roasted duck breast ever (and we've tried many versions of this in Europe). It was served with aligot, mashed potato with cream which is a bit on the heavy side with the duck but nevertheless, very delicious and served with flair. The beef cheeks are good but not at the same standard... More

This restaurant has two levels, both beautifully decorated interiors, excellent service and food, they do not rush you if you want to take your time. The lentil entree is very large so share, the signature dish of cheesy potatoes is fantastic. We had a wonderful evening, food & wine both faultless, staff very attentive without being in your face (just... More

Very friendly and welcoming staff. The food is very good. Be prepared to pay between £60-65 per head (with wine). If you do order the lentils as a starter – don’t order a second starter, this is big enough for too and an excellent dish. Very good range of wine and do try their signature dish – Aligot (cheesy potato... More
