Just went there. Every time I go is outstanding. We had the crab cakes the duck and cheese. The service and the attention was flawless, well done. I am from America and this is my 7th time in Allard, it never fails. Good Job !!

Very poor indeed. Foolishly went with a friend’s recommendation even after reading the TA reviews. Whilst the food was acceptable (I struggled to type that) the eye watering cost of it and the wine made it an appalling experience! €60 for a carafe of very...mediocre wine. Really, really don’t book this. I’m appalled that it’s even open. A crime in a city of numerous good restaurants. You can do better. Stay home, order any takeaway and open a decent bottle of wine. Should mention our waiter from Brazil was adorable. He needs to move on quickly!!!!More

Found our way to Allard's while in Paris for our wedding anniversary. What a find! Quaint, tiny restaurant, with great ambience. You enter through the kitchen to a small dining room on the corner of two streets in the old center of Paris. Sommelier was...wonderful and recommended a great wine. Wait person also great. Everyone offered to speak English, which helped because my high school French was limited. Music in the background was various French singers, which added to the Parisian feel. The meal was wonderful. Chef sent a tasty cucumber salad to our table, with amazing cheese puffs. We had escargot and steak tartar as starters, both wonderful. Homemade whole grain bread added to the meal. Sea bass as entre was delicious, served with sauteed spinach and mushrooms. Roasted root vegetables on the side were perfect. Cream puffs with amazing melted chocolate and homemade ice cream finished off our evening. Heavenly. Would absolutely return. The maitre de checked on us several times, Wonderful service and vibe.More

You know when Alain Ducasse puts his name to a restaurant it is going to be good and thankfully Allard did not disappoint. This turned out to be one of the best dinners in Paris and that is saying a lot as I went to...some good places. On the Left Bank where Saint Germain meets the Latin Quarter this restaurant has a front room and a back room, I was happily in the relaxed back dining room. There is something charming and reliably French about the decor, red velvet banquets against country floral wallpaper made for a stylish and inviting feel. And serving the champagne in vintage style coupes was delightful and set a nice touch for the dinner to come. But I am here for the food, and Allard delivered. The menu is French classics given a bit of an update so while completely satisfying familiar cuisine, it also is not exacly the same as the usual bistro which makes for something exciting. The menu is not too big and seasonal and the friendly service was happy to explain anything. I loved the Cod that was served in a foam with beans and crunchy chunks of bacon. It was simply amazing. I started with the foie gras and ended with their cooked figs with yogurt ice cream which was the perfect note to finish on. I can't recommend this place enough. I myself am already making plans to go back so save a place for me...More

In the 70s when Allard was a two-star, one-knife-and-fork Michelin establishment, it was in my mind the best value restaurant in Paris. so back in Paris decades later I felt obliged to enjoy it again. It's considerably more uptown from those days when the tablecloths...were an inch of layered butcher paper, and they'd pull off the top sheet and present a "clean" table to the next diners, never mind a drop or to of leftover oil that seeped through from the last guests; the food was great. It is still producing good fare with considerably more uptown ambiance and pricing. Ordering the foie gras was a mistake. I had great memories of lovely lumps of rare goose liver in Alsace, but this was a pate that could have been duck for all I could discern, and expensive. The rognon, however, was perfect. Great texture like a perfectly plumped mushroom and great flavor. I've not spent enough time in Pars to know how prices here compare to elsewhere, but €7 for still water, that came in what looked to me like a long reused Evian bottle that was not opened at the table, seemed way over the top. It's a good restaurant, but quite pricey, I thought.More

Staff very nice and did their best, but food would have been better if they had defrosted something from Picard. No atmosphere, music played through radio, complete with ads. We walked past so many lovely looking places to get to Allard and it felt like...a bad French theme restaurant. Really disappointing, go elsewhere!More

Rumsteak! Really? The beef plat was a perfectly cooked rump steak !as tough and stringy as they come. The Cepes were a pathetic vegetarian dish and they were cold ….and so we’re the potatoes. To be fair the Grenouille were excellent, the sommelier very helpful,...the junior staff pleasant, although surprisingly without any English at all, but the sound loop (REALLY REALLY!) of Frank Sinatra, Edith Piaf and Doris Day was a bit like a Carnival Cruise (I guess) and way too short so you heard the same songs come around again …..and our waiter held up Paris’ reputation for curt impatience. This was not what ALLARD used to be and not, I expect, what M. Ducasse wants his reputation to be. Please come back Sir and give it your attention. The profiteroles were a new take on a century-tested perfect dish: This was Milk chocolate (Ok, I guess) but then bursting with a type of creme anglaise that overpowered everything and made for a mushy desert. (Ducasse is a great chef so…OK for inventiveness but not for the result. )More

Being a racing man and going to the Prix de l'arc de Triomphe every year and as all gamblers superstitious we go to Allard. We have been to Allard three times and won at the races. Last year we didn't go to Allard we lost...,so we returned after winning again. Allard is living in the past ,the service very alof, the menu very limited as it is,even the Roast Chicken at 88euros for 2 ( if it was Bresse Chicken I could understand) and the Cod were finished leaving the Menu even more sparce. With Roast Duck with a multitude of olives at 90 euros. We even had Halibut on other visits, how can Allard have a Michelin star beggars belief. This is probably the reason for many empty tables on a time when Paris was heaving. Sort this out Mr Ducasse before it's too late and we won't get our winner next year. GGMore

On the positives, the staff was very nice. On the negatives, this was the most expensive meal we had in Paris and the worst. The menu is limited and has dusty tourist trap recipes like frog legs and escargot, but very little that imaginative. It...is not very kid friendly (unless your kids like sweetbreads or fish) because the menu is so limited. So we had to order the chicken for two which was 88 euros for the kids. I can roast a better chicken. Hell colonel sanders can too. It was dry and not seasoned well. The 28 Euro pate was awful. Just an all around disappointment.More

The place has a big reputation for chicken so we ordered the chicken with other plates. Comments were that chicken was dry and very expensive. 88 Euro for a chicken and veggies or potato are extra. Decoration will remind you of Grandma's House.More

We dined at Allard again and had a great evening. The staff were friendly, sufficiently attentive and knowledgable about the menu. The food and service are totally fine at this historic establishment…family has been going here for decades and this is the main reason our family returns. The decor is very charming. There may be better places for bistro fare in Paris but if you are...in the St Germain area, this place will suffice.More

Except for the visually distinguishing installation of a ceiling-dominating air filtration system for Covid, Allard moves into its 8th decade pretty much unchanged. Ducasse Group management is well established. It surely lacks the soul of a chef-owner bistro, but in Paris, particularly, chef in the...kitchen, wife managing the front is a disappearing model. Clientele pretty much pre-Covid, many tourists, multiple nationalities. Compact, traditional bistro menu with concessions to less intrepid guests, except for the extraordinary roast chicken for two, at the high margin price of 88€., surely the most popular plate. With a unique butternut squash vegetable and soup, and pigs feet, chocolate mousse and crème caramel, a fine meal served with smiles. Wines by carafe.More

Right down the road from our hotel (Relais Christine), and a go-to favorite of my in-laws over many years and many visits. It had recently re-opened post-Covid, and we looked forward to our dinner there. But (much as we wanted to give them a break...after the tough Covid times they've been through) it was pretty shocking…no ambiance, service slow and mixed and not professional, weird confusion over requested green side salad (ending up with a huge bowl of frisée lettuce tangled in a heap, PLUS a little (better) salad with the meal). Starters and main dishes were not good, and in my mother-in-law’s case (their signature duck) inedible (she sent it back). Not a word from the manager, and the waiter merely wanted to bring her the same dish again (or have it cooked more and brought to her, which she declined). Even the chocolate mousse at the end was horrid and grainy in texture (any one of US could make a better mousse!). Appalling for a meal that cost well over €400. We would not go back, and don’t understand the recommendations and high ratings (but can see from other TA reviewers that we are not alone in our disappointment).More
