We stumbled upon this place on our first day as we explored our new neighbourhood for the week. Jet lagged and starving, the sight of locals, workmen, a few old gents crowding the restaurant was a sign that we should stop in. We had a glass of rose and shared a delicious charcuterie/cheese board with lots of bread and salty... More

I've been here because it was close to my hotel, but here I found a true Parisien bistrot with really good french cusine (goose in particular)! Me and my familiy really loved this place. I hope to get back soon!

Cheerful, noisy, happy, inexpensive, tasty food - something for everyone, paper table covers, and a happy vibe. I loved my crispy duck confit (we asked for it to be crispy), and the potatoes were perfect. The herring with warm potatoes was also just right (for 2 of us!) and we liked the demi of Chiroubles, that we had more. The... More

Visited this typical neighborhood restaurant with mostly locals, for lunch on a Saturday noon. The kitchen serves high quality non nonsense meals which tasted extremely delicious. Complemented by an efficient and friendly service and all at very democratic prices. Absolutely recommended!!!!

A small restaurant, sufficiently far from the top attractions. Good "plat du jour" ( we had meat ). Friendly staff, not overpriced.

Owned and runned by the 3rd generation in the Family, enjoy french home made cuisine at a very reasonable price... A Wine bar called " la cave d'en face" just in front.... Say hi to Maria for me the portugues waitress for year... An ideal gathering for artists living around...

This place is a real find; an authentic Parisienne bistro with very few Americans; only one other party on the night we went. The menu had several interesting choices in each category, and the wine list offered reasonable options. For the starter we shared grilled octopus with cucumber "spaghetti" which was thin threads of cucumber tossed with a light vinaigrette... More

Although there aren't many English speakers in this establishment, you shouldn't have too much trouble enjoying your experience. You'll find at least on staff person who can help break down a few menu items - and you won't be dissapointed! My wife and I both had great cooked dishes, I imagine anything they serve would be great.

I just left this little and lovely place; the food was very nice, although I just ate a cold cuts platter. My friend found her cooked dish very tasty as well! Yes, english is, of course, not their first language, however we have been served by a very sweet waiter speaking a clear english, which helped us to understand the... More

This is a largeish establishment in a corner street behind Montmartre, which has somehow managed to remain true to its roots as a neighbourhood bistrot. The decor is not particularly new, and there is a bunch of cheerful drunks propping up the bar. The dining room is largely reserved for someone's private birthday party to which guests are coming in... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
