I read many trip advisor and google reviews for best escargot in Paris, given it was my last day of holiday. This one got a lot of reviews and for good reason. We were super hungry from hours of walking around a museum during the day, we ordered 12 escargot each of traditional (amazing and good serving full of flavour).... More

This was # 2 of 3 epicurean extravagances for my 60th, couldn't resist the lure of a Golden Snail. We started out with champagne & Petrossian caviar (superb), moved on to truffle and foie gras escargot (delish). The Bouef Bourguignon and Poitrine dePorc were both very good. The only disappointment was the Tartin for dessert (not good). The ambiance was... More

This is a busy street filled with eateries.. all busy... and this was no exception. We were dubious we would get a table but gave it a go anyway... good news it goes back and there is more space upstairs. The menu was quite expensive by UK standards and upstairs was quite grand but don't worry the staff are wonderful... More

We came here hot on the heels of a couple of hours in a karaoke booth. And why not? We shared gold-covered escargot that were delicious. I could have ordered more of those bad boys. I had frog legs. Didn't like them as much as I'd wanted. A friend had some tasty sweetbreads. A fun time getting to eat some... More

Traditional escargot was great!! We ordered more. The truffle butter escargot was a little lack lustre... flavour didn't compare to the traditional garlic butter and herb. We are at 5:30 and it was pretty much empty - but it was a great night with great service.

We came here on the recommendation of our hotel concierge when we told him we wanted to eat good escargot. L'escargot Montorgueil is know for their snails so we made a reservation for dinner which I highly recommend because they were packed that evening. The escargot was good not quite amazing and we tried 3 of the 5-6 different kind... More

We had wonderful dinner at this restaurant tonight! Had mixed expectations after reading reviews, but the place, food and service exceeded expectations :) Interior is really beautiful and dinner was delicious. We had traditional escargot's as a starter with Burgundy white wine recommended by menu - great match! I had Entrecôte with homemade fried potatoes and Bernaise sauce, ordered some... More

We started coming here in 1980 and have always returned when in Paris. The service was great but the escargot were tough and not nearly enough sauce. The bread they serve with the escargot is way too sweet in our opinion. We prefer baguettes. The plats were just OK. We may have hit a bad night. For this trip to... More

Came here for dinner, it was recommended by friends. I'd advise you make a reservation beforehand. 4 adults plus a child, the total was less then €200. Starters, main course and a bottle of nice French wine. They have a variety of snails. We sent for half dozen of traditional and half dozen of of something else. We also had... More

This restaurant is one of the most historic in Paris. It means a lot of tourists but I for one thing the charge of tourist trap is misplaced. We ate excellent snails and fillet. The waiter who could not have been more helpful competed with his bad English with my bad French. It was charming. I would reccomend booking as... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
