This review is a bit overdue... however the hubby and I were just in Paris in late November and we had been dreaming of returning to Taokan, a very special, chic asian fusion restaurant in the 6th. We were told about this restaurant by someone who travels to Paris four to five times a year. The inventive food is beyond... More

The always problem with french fusion is that they take famous cuisine(such as this chinese one) but they are not respecting the portion from China! I lived in china and even went to ''fanzy'' restaurant and dishes were delicious but full... which is not the case of this restaurant. Dim sum delicious though, the soup just average, nothing special. NO TEA... More

Enjoyable. Good quality, nice flavours, not pretentious. The Dim Sum and the Soups are a real find! We had a good evening and a delicious meal. Good wine and sake selection too.

It was a place we went into on our way home from the Odeon. The most pleasant surprise was to see Catherine Deneuve as we went into the restaurant from pouring rain. My expectations went up because I seen her around in other restaurants in the area and they are very good. Unfortunately this one was ok but no more.... More

Touted as 'gourmet chinese', we opted for the lobster dimsum with green apple, as well as the Shanghainese soup dumplings for starters. The room was stark and well designed. The waitstaff was overly attentive, which was a nice change. BUT... then the food came. The lobster was okay, but the green apple was nowhere to be found and neither was... More

Pre-booked this restaurant before we left the UK as it had good reviews was close to our hotel and opened on a Sunday. However, when we arrived at 7:30pm (table booking time) the restaurant was still closed. To be fair they opened the doors soon after but it felt strange and the waiter hovered over us making us feel uncomfortable.... More

This was a delightful find (thanks to TripAdvisor!). The food was amazing. The salt and pepper shrimp were to die for and the moo shu duck was delicious. We had the mango and sticky rice dessert and it was light and satisfying. The room is quiet and the service was very attentive and charming.

Ate dim sum as an appetizer and beef as the main course. The dim sum was pefectly steamed and came quick. The beef was so tender it melted on the tounge. My husband ate spring rolls and duck. He order a second portion of duck because it was so good. Recomend to everyone who visits or lives in Paris.

After 10 days of only Italian or French food, we wanted something more like what we eat at home. Used Tripadvisor to search for Chinese restaurants near our Paris hotel. Taokan was at the top of the list, so off we went. Nicely decorated, contemporary Asian restaurant. We chose to get Chinese dishes similar to what we eat at home.... More

Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
