After shopping on Rue du Cherche-Midi, this was the perfect spot for a light lunch. For 14 Euros, we had a tartine (ham and cheese) on their wonderful Poilane bread, the soup of the day, and a glass of wine. A salad may be substituted...More

I was looking forward to coming here after I read the reviews. The restaurant is called Comptoir and serves all kinds of toast and jam. Service was good nice and quiet but €25 for toast jam and tea was a lot to pay.

This is a worthwhile place for lunch, next door to and owned by Poilane Bakery, featuring open face sandwiches (tartines) on Poilane Bread at reasonable prices. It is also in a wonderful area to browse the shops.

We went for breakfast on this visit. I think it is a bit better for lunch but breakfast is very good and we had the place to ourselves. Service was good, as well.

We've been here several times in past years and always enjoyed the experience: the sandwiches, which are made with delicious Poilane bread (they own the place and the bakery is right next door) or their soups were always wonderful. Not so this time. The sandwiches...More

We stopped by this tartine shop in August after seeing it featured on "The Barefoot Contessa," and it being August, and it being France, the restaurant was closed with no notice on their website. We came back two weeks later, on a Sunday in September,...More

We noticed the tartines as we stopped in for a cafe crema prior to our "Paris by Mouth" food tour, so we returned the next day to try them ourselves. The Jambon combo (soup or salad, wine or sparking water, included) which was delicious. The...More

I heard about this restaurant from the famous chef and cookbook author, Ina Garten. She raves over the bread from Poilane's, and this restaurant is just next door, and uses their bread. My husband and I had the mozzarella, tomato, basil tartine (open face sandwich,...More

In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic
and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is

ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants.
Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine
art school and small museums hide in unassuming
squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the

Yes. They serve light breakfast and lunch. I don't drink coffee and my husband only drinks espresso but it is not uncommon to see a cafe creme in a bowl.
