After a one hour journey to this restaurant- Sunday evening dinner for one, I was rudely turned away. When asked if I had a reservation, I replied no. I was told " you will not be dining here this evening medame " then he walked away..... Sad

Small charming restaurant in typical parisien style. Service nice and they even managed to get us a table without reservation Friday evening. Food was delicious and nicely prepared. We did not have to wait though the kitchen seems very small and the restaurant was ful.

Small very popular bistro filled up by 7pm and repeatedly turned people away. Excellent service with one very friendly waiter (who speaks such perfect English that he could pass as American!) ably serving the entire restaurant, aided by bartender serving dishes also. Pass on the prawns app and go for the generous portion of good french onion soup. My wife... More

We wandered by and saw a crowd in this small restaurant in the fourth and we tried to get a table and could not as there were only three seatings per night. We reserved for the next night and it was fantastic; some of the very best bistro food in Paris. Fresh innovative cooking from the small open kitchen. The... More

Although the decor is a bit off-putting, the service was superb and the food thoughtfully prepared. They were very accommodating when we shared app and dessert, since 2 full menus is usually too much for us, and ordered an extra main dish to fill out the meal. Our waiter's suggestion of a little-known cabernet blend hit the mark for the... More

We came here as a couple on a Saturday evening and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The atmosphere was great (although there wasn't very much room) and our waiter was friendly and helped us choose wine to accompany our meal. The food was delicious and the roasted lamb in particular was excellent. A very enjoyable experience. It was very busy so... More

as I have eaten at this restaurant multiple times in the past and always enjoyed it, I didn't bother to check the address which is WRONG WRONG WRONG - NOW ON RUE DE TOURNELLE so when I arrived at the old address, to my dismay I found the restaurant had moved. A quick check on my cell phone gave the... More

We had been in Paris for a few days and I was beginning to wonder where was the legendary French Cuisine I had heard about and not experienced; this place restored my faith. Located in the Marais District on a small side street, the food was exceptional. I had a specialty, 7 hour lamb dish which was simply superb. Attentive... More

I spent three weeks in Paris working on a photo-project on Squares.....so moving all over Paris and almost always eating in recommended restaurants. True the ambience in many was fine...but mostly the food appalling. Typically one main course cost me 30 euros. THEN, my last evening, I persuaded the staff here at L'Ange 20 to let me eat there unbooked,... More

Typical French bistro located in the hart of Marais just a few foot steeps away from the "Place des Vosges" and Saint Paul Church. From the small intimate and cozy dining room you can see everything that happens in the kitchen. Thierry the owner and his team will pay special attention that you feel at home. Here one does not hesitate to speak directly to the kitchen! The dishes are simple and tasty. All made from fresh products cooked like at home The wine list offers a wide selection of French wines, selected with care. You 'll find your happiness at reasonable price.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
