5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 April 2013

Amid the many scores of restaurants in the Latin Quarter, by sheer luck we picked this restaurant. We sat by the window and watched the tourists stroll by while having an outstanding meal with friendly service. The onion soup was perfect and served piping hot. I had moules as a main course, served in an excellent red sauce with crisp,... More

Definitely not chic, fashionable, or gourmet. BUT it's one of my must do Bistro/cafes when I'm in Paris. The decor is rustic (to say the least) and akin to the interior of a barn (lots of rough sawn wood) and the taxidermy adds to the overall offbeat character of the place. But in it's own way, it's got more character than... I realize that sounds terribly naive. It seemed good from the menu. "Traditional french cuisine." We were tired, it was Sunday night. How bad can duck breast be? Nobody can ruin duck breast. Or can they? The onion soup was ok-I’m told it is really hard to ruin that. The duck breast was tough and far too overcooked. Yes-duck breast... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
