I have been to Paris three times and every time I go back to this restaurant in the Latin Quarter because it just provides such good value for money in Paris. The pizzas taste good, the service is friendly and the price excellent. It is also very popular among locals - always a good sign.

We were exhausted, so we just went to the closest place to eat since it was past 10pm and we didn't want to go to a place that would be closed by the time we got there. This was close and we decided to walk over.

Right across from our hotel (Hotel Saint-Jacques) we found this great Italian restaurant. The food was tasty. The service was fast and friendly. The prices were reasonable. This became our regular haunt. Our experience each time was just the same. This is a fine spot for a really good Italian meal in the Latin Quarter.

Our hotel was right across the street so we decided to try this establishment. The food was OK, but the owner/manager went out of his way to be unfriendly. It was our misfortune to also draw him as our waiter. Disappointing.

We ordered the side of beef for 2. The meat was excellent and done just the way we wanted: rare. But there was no way 2 could ever eat the quantity of feed served. And the accompaniments were so so. On the towers hand, the dessert was very good - much better than I expected. And the service was friendly... More

We came here as our last meal in Paris and decided to go Italian as a break from traditional French. Worst meal we've had in Paris - we got the penne gorgonzola and spaghetti bolognese - both were worse than a microwaveable meal (in the US). We make better spaghetti using Prego and Italian sausage. The service was fine -... More

We ate here last year and had a wonderful meal, no issue. This year, we were actually headed to a different restaurant but it was closed without notice. We decided since we were in the area to return to Il Pescatore because we had enjoyed out last meal there so much. Not a bad choice again! We both enjoyed our... More

Was looking for a meal of Pasta in the Latin Q, on Trip Adviser and this place came up with mixed reviews so we decided to take a chance. Well I am glad we did has the meal and service was very good, the pasta was cooked to al-dente.

Thank Graeme B

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
