We just ate a filling traditional three course fixed price meal for 16€ each. Everything was good but nothing outstanding. It is a perfect choice for a casual evening. The charming atmosphere and location on a side street near the Pantheon made us feel at home.

Stumbled across this place while looking for another restaurant -- seems our original destination had closed -- and I'm glad it led us to Gaudemus instead! Food was straight forward, and delicious, and all for a great value. Service was really friendly and informative. In this busy city, Gaudemus was a nice change of pace -- laid back, casual, and... The food could be more genuinely french. Unfortunately it has not crossed the line of a restaurant to return.

Wandering the 6th, my daughter loved the look from the street, a small, French cafe. The staff were very friendly and kind. Be aware, they only accept cash, so hit the ATM before you order dinner. Food, bread, and wine were all wonderful! I had the seasonal vegetarian sampler; the kids, spicy chicken, and ravioli with ham and artichoke hearts!... More

We stopped in for dinner after finding our first two restaurant choices were closed for the day. We opted for the prix fixe menu - a deal at $16.90E for salad, entree, and dessert. Three- four choices on each course. Service was good. Salad we chose was the lettuce/tomato - average. We both had the Parmesan ravioli - very large... More

The food was good, i tried the lentils, ravioli and typical french sweet without sugar (i don`t remember the name, sorry ;)) , the staff polite and at family run, the place is simple and friendliness.

This restaurant was outstanding from the wine to the dessert. We had the foie gras for a starter -- outstanding and very flavorful. My husband ordered the artichoke & ham ravioli which was wonderful. I ordered the beef stroganoff which was very good. For dessert, we ordered the cheesecake, chocolate fudge (really choc lava cake), chocolate mousse & chocolate ice... More

I've been here in October 2015. The only thing that I can say about this place is that I've never seen a staff so unkind, especially the boss.

Lovely Café tucked in a winding street behind the Pantheon. Like most Cafès in Paris, it has an indoor and off street sitting. We visited this place in the afternoon the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. The coffee was nice, loved the location and ambience.

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
