The staff was extremely pleasant and welcoming. We were offered small amuse-bouche at the beginning and we ordered kirs before the appetizers. For starters: we had the Dahl (amazing) and Salmon (very good). Mains: we had the beef steak (special of the day, and it was just exceptional) and my date had the calamari (also just as good).

I went there yesterday with my husband for dinner. The dishes were tasteful and the service was good and friendly.I tasted lentils and fried chicken stuffed with vegetables. We paid 105 euros for two persons for a menu of three dishes and a bottle of red wine .I strongly recommend this restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic lunch experience amongst Sisters' dining over lunch. The combination of very friendly wait-staff & culinary skills in the kitchen made this afternoon's experience really superb. The pre-set menu was nice as the entree & plat were done complimentary to one another, but definitely not much the same, giving insight to repertoire that's available from this restaurant. A must... You have to be fluent in French to appreciate the puns and twists of language in Monjul's menu, but you just have to sit and enjoy to appreciate the great dining experience. We were a group of 5 and all had different items and everybody loved what they got. On my end, the Hercule Poirot vinaigrette and nebulous tentacles were... More

Five entrees, five plates and five desserts. Very inventive, with good flavors. Only two staff working the room, but they did well. Execution somewhat better than the descriptions (the "psychedelic kaleidoscope" of fried chicken stuffed with crunchy vegetables on a bed of rice with rice foam was really good, even though it was hard to conceive of from the description).... Great restaurant - love atmosphere, good service, the disches are made with fantasy and love, lovely decorated, sometimes you need to use your imagination to guess wat ingredients were used. The cuisine is a fusion - French with a modern twist. I host recommended this restaurant and we are still very grateful for him for this advise. We had extraordinary... More

I'm on a brief visit to Paris, the most romantic city, but sadly solo, my love is at home. I tried a restaurant I have eaten in before but it was, thankfully as it turns out, full. I wandered off and nearly passed this wonderful place by but something caught my eye and I stepped in expecting to be, again,... More

I found this little restaurant for a last "French" meal for my Amercan friends. I unfortunately booked for 2 instead of 3 and unlike most French restaurants we did not wait long to be "rebooked" or get that how could you be so stupid look. The menu is not vast but heh what the heck "small" is beautiful right? The... More

I have lived in the Marais, and it is a great area to live, but very poor with good restaurants. A good friend recommended me Monjul. + short menu, but very creative choices, topped with a daily special. + excellent quality ingredients. The chef is great. + central location and nice sixties / seventies inspired decoration. + extremely fair prices,... More

I enjoyed this place. Limited choice and small portions but innovative and tasty... Sometimes a little too innovative in that deconstructed square cut meat kind of way but overall made with care and at a good price. Decor is dimple and cozy.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
