Very very trad French food in a nice setting but in comparison, safe, standard dishes at a premium price with pretty patchy service.

Outstanding restaurant. Believe it has one Michelin star and it is well-deserved. Attentive and polite service for a full five course dinner with wine by the glass. Setting was a warm night with about 30 or so other diners in several groups, mostly adults, on a lovely patio in full view of L'Orangerie du Chateau Bloise just across the street.... More

Our travel agent guided us to this restaurant. Probably more up market than we were expecting. The food was lovely. The service terrific, and very attentive. Wine a bit pricey!

We were fortunate enough to be able to eat outside on the terrasse on a warm and pleasant evening. The historic buildings around us were wonderful and induced a feeling of exquisite luxury. The food was sophisticated, well-cooked and delicious and the service friendly, attentive and unobtrusive. We enjoyed a truly lovely meal at L'Orangerie.

Don't get me wrong, the service and the food were great; however I was there for lunch and all their options are gastronomic and very expensive. There are less expensive options in the area, but this was recommended to us. A very expansive wine selection, very good service, I encourage you to speak French! But if you're just looking for... Good morning "S. Austin G" We have taken note concerning your opinion. As you said, we are not a sandwich restaurant but a gourmet restaurant with one Michelin Star. That explains the prices. It's impossible to take one course directly and not all the menu. (Three and more courses) Yours fairthfully Mr. Jean-Marc MOLVEAUX More

Wonderful, lovely elegant simple atmosphere, warm welcome by a friendly patronne who knows her business, young delightfully earnest waiters. We had the four-course menu for 41 Euros: best amuse bouche we've had in France, frothy asparagus soup, absoutely outstanding pan-fried foie gras, perfectly and simply prepared Dorade, doused in a light and creamy sauce at the table, profiteroles with perfect... This was a particularly pleasant way to end our holiday in the Loire Valley. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, the wine list was comprehensive with reasonably priced local wines and the staff were helpful and efficient.

There are two high rated restaurants in Blois. I selected this one as it offered traditional haute cuisine. I was not disappointed. The night I was there, the staff was mostly apprentices, so there were a few little bumps, but nothing serious (everyone has to learn their craft). I started with the fois gras coated with a light layer of... More

We had a group mreservation for 29 with a 3-course meal. Starters were char, or egg and leeks, or shrimp. Main courses were lamb I. Puff pastry, Guinea hen, or a fish entree. The dessert was strawberries, or a crumble with strawberries surrounding Verne fraiche with crumbles on top. The symmetry of clean plates was a testament to our satisfaction.... More

After visiting the château at Blois we were ready for some lunch. The restaurant, being just opposite the château, was very easy to find. The outside architecture of the restaurant was very impressive and it was easy to imagine its original links to the château. We thought that the service at the restaurant was impeccable. The staff were unobtrusive, but... More
