We are in St Malo for a music festival and thought we'd treat ourselves to a special meal before the festival starts. We chanced upon Le Chalut as we were wandering around St Malo trying to distinguish between every restaurant we came across. Well what...More

Very good fish restaurant. Family-owned and operated. The menus are delicious and provides an own style. Great variety of wines. Highly frequented, therefore a bit of noise. Reservation needed.

We really enjoyed our meal here. While it took some time to get our food it was absolutely worth the wait and our patience was rewarded. The lobster was meaty and delicious with a rich tasty sauce and desserts were were wonderful. We hope to...More

Went to this place due to the reviews and recommendations in the guidebooks. The decor and menu looks like it hasn't changed since the 90s. The fish was well cooked but nothing was particularly special. The service was good but cold (old French). Note that...More

Far different from another Michelin one star in which we dined that was large, formal, elegant, meticulous, delicious. Le Chalet was also delicious but informal, intimate, relaxed. seating perhaps 30 diners. We stayed next door; the owner made our reservation well in advance. Our servers...More

Having read good things about “Le Chalut” we decided to reserve a table for our family of four. The food was really very good and anyone who is into seafood is unlikely to be disappointed. HOWEVER, our big ‘mistake’ was to go there with our...More
