I've been here 4 or 5 times and have always enjoyed the food, even if the service had been a bit shoddy. Last night was the last straw though. Our meal was good, however the service we received was very poor. The staff were quite rude, telling us at 8.05pm that there was a booking for our table at 8.15... More

Colin I am very sorry for what had happened. The rude manner of my staff is totally unacceptable. Rest assured I will investigate this further and take a serious action on the staff you referred to. I will be in charge of looking after the front of house now to give a proper staff training. It will be such a... More

Norman Musa is Official ‘Food Ambassador for Kuala Lumpur’, not that we knew that before we bought his impressively detailed “Amazing Malaysian” recipe book. Sadly, there is almost nothing Amazing about his Ning restaurant, where Norman was very definitely not in the kitchen on the night we visited, barely seemed to be there even in spirit, and we could discern... David L Thank you for your comments but I won't bother replying in details after I read you were comparing my food to the specific one in London. I don't use MSG in my cooking. That shows the standard of food you were after. Cheap and cheerful. So good luck with that! ps stop using another Malaysian to validate your... More

With a massive feeling of being ripped off I am forced to spend more money elsewhere. From finding one prawn in my Tom Yam seafood soup to my regretful spend of £6.50 on roti canai, bread and a couple of tablespoons of curry sauce. This may be the simple case of ning sending sub par food as it's for delivery... More

Daniel I apologise for this silly mistake made by my kitchen. There should be more prawns in that soup together with calamari and mussels. Can you kindly call my restaurant (0161 2389088) and speak to Ms Ines Karunia, who I have briefed about refunding the total amount for Tom Yam and Roti Canai. I have also briefed my kitchen team... We visited after reading some excellent reviews and the food itself did not disappointed- the beef rendang was as good as we get in KL, the salmon curry was very good also. The service was not up to the same level as the food and there is a definite need to improve housekeeping as the place mats and menus were... More

So I have been totally in love with this place for about seven years! I can cook Malay food quite well and yet this place is just outstanding. The service is top notch, no waiting just being totally looked after by such polite people. Restaurant in small and independently run, clearly with a talented chef working. I had the tapas... More

Dear Naufal I partly blamed my staff for the incident and have investigated this further but the fact that you threatened and blackmailed my staff on the night you visited us to write on the tripadvisor for turning you down is right shameful. We popped in on a Saturday, not quite sure what we really wanted to eat. When given the menu we were happy to see that there was a tapas style menu to choose from. Description
Manchester might be awash with slick dining outfits but none quite like Ning. Unlike many others, Ning values subtlety and sophistication both in its style and its cuisine. This Northern Quarter venue offers a bustling ambience somewhere between trendy canteen and chic bistro. With polished wood tables, voguish floral patterned wallpaper and candlelit tables, the interior strikes a similar balance of fashionable buzz meets classy intimacy. Award-winning, the predominately authentic Malaysian menu also offers Thai and fusion dishes, all made with fresh ingredients, free from added MSG. Ning's accomplished chefs pride themselves on producing a concise menu of carefully selected and well cooked dishes, and service is attentive without being over-bearing. Malaysian hospitality and food.
