We arrived in Manchester hungry and set out to find something relatively light for lunch, since it was a bit late. We found this deli and were glad we did. We each got a bowl of homemade soup (spicy parsnip), and split a hummus avocado sandwich. Both were very good. The sandwich was made to order. We were surprised when... More

First, let me start off by saying that this deli has so much potential. Great location with a nice idea behind it. That unfortunately is all it has going for it at the moment. I have been in a few times and given it a fair try, however, each time it has been increasingly poor! Just when I think it... More

Went here for breakfast as part of my hotel stay with a local hotel for 3 days, the breakfast was nice choice, but personally, i found the food over cooked, the bacon was not great quality, it tended to be either black or like cardboard, did try and ask for lightly cooked but still not great. You had choice of either... More

Recent visits have been better. Lovely food and good atmosphere in there. Lasagne and salads are great. Customer service still really hit and miss. Either really pleasant or failing on the basics. No eye contact, or acknowledgment on leaving let alone thanks for visiting. This happens even when it's quiet. It's such a nice place to have locally but some... More

Great service and great lunchtime food. I've been to this deli so many times, it's right next to the gay village and has a lovely vibe about it. I'd always recommend the chicken/pesto panini.

The breakfasts here are ok - unfortunately there was a hefty delay between our two breakfasts (we wouldn't mind if we had been told about it, it also was not busy at all - there was only another couple in at the time) and we weren't offered any sauces etc (ketchup as standard with my fry up!!) so the service... Looking for a big tasty breakfast post-wedding and to round off a fun weekend away before heading home North we chose The Olive based on location and previous reviews. I was dubious and should have trusted my instincts. There wasn't much in the way of communication/interaction from the single waitress and the place was empty bar one other diner. I... More

Used this for breakfast whilst up in Manchester on a course. So glad I found it. It has a lovely friendly vibe and the porridge is so creamy and delicious. The cooked breakfasts look really nice too. I'll be having one of those on my last morning. They have a great array of sandwiches and flat breads. I'd be getting... More

I love down the road from Olive Deli and have been wanting to try it out for months. I had my friends visiting this weekend so I decided it would be a nice opportunity to visit. There were 2 members of staff in the deli (one boy, one girl) and we were not even greeted with a 'hello', smile or... More

This may be a little shabby chic deli but I had the best breakfast sandwich ever (and I eat a fair view) beautiful soft bread and packed with sausage and bacon. Friendly staff and good coffee to accompany
