We visited here recently whilst in the area, we used to visit lots years ago with work and thought it would be nice to pay a visit, the decor has been updated and they have some nice cost booths now which we were able to be seated at. The service was excellent and the menu choices were amazing. We opted... More

Although not our first visit the Yang Sing is always our first choice when visiting Manchester. I enjoyed the Chicken and Sesame Cake followed by the Beef with green peppers in a black bean sauce. Nigel had Dim Sum (A speciality of the house) then the Chicken with honey and lemon, which without doubt is the best he'd ever tasted... More

This is a well known Chinese Restaurant at the edge of the Manchester 'Chinatown'. We have eaten here several times over the las 30 years although not for 10 years. It has been run by generations of the same family for over 40 years. We have always enjoyed it and this visit was no exception. A friendly welcome and we... More

Went for a duck and dim sum platter with a colleague and 3 clients. The duck and dim sum were lovely for the most part - although the tripe I ordered didn't seem to get eaten. Spacious restaurant and comfortable-size table meant all food could get on. Pleasant décor overall. Also went for a few pints of Asahi which washed... More

This is more expensive than other nearby Chinese restaurants, however, it was well worth it. We were made to feel really welcome coats taken & hung up, wet umbrella taken to dry. Service very good and friendly and the restaurant well decorated. I have a good appetite but we couldn't finish our meal as the portions are huge, but they... More

Eat here around Christmas every year as a get together with friends. We don't order anything specific and get a banquet of their choice. Never been unimpressed with a dish that has arrived. Service is always top class and for the amount of food you get then you can't knock the price! Definitely recommend the duck & pancakes...amazing!

From the minute we stepped in we felt very welcome, everyone was very polite and friendly! We had some balloons set up for our birthdays which was a lovely touch. Food and drinks were reasonable and for a starter, main, dessert and drinks it came to £35 per person. All food was delicious. Dum sum beef with spring onions and... More

I booked a Cantonese cookery course which I attended last Saturday afternoon. There were 14 of us on the course and a delightful group of people they were too, some having travelled a long distance. We were greeted by Yin Ting, the owner's son who gave us the background behind the restaurant and his family. He immediately made us feel... More

We visited the Yang Sing restaurant in Manchester recently for a family meal... We last went for a meal here about ten years ago when this place had a great reputation and was always popular... sadly, this time the dining experience was a bit of a let down... Firstly, we had to wait ages to be shown to our table,... More

Seeing as I was ‘celebrating’ my birthday on my own, (What’s to celebrate about getting slightly more decrepit and grumpy each year?) I thought I’d visit Yang Sing and I was glad I did. I’ve not enjoyed a meal on my own as much in a long time. Yes, it was fairly expensive, (£39.27 including service) probably about half as... More
