Just popped in for a lunchtime Americano and margherita pizza with friends.
Friendly efficient service and best pizza I've had for years, if I lived in Manchester I wouldn't go anywhere else. Very reasonably priced menu.
Sadly didn’t meet our expectations. Staff were friendly but the manager was acting super stressed. The wait time was really long even though it was very quiet in there. I was told my main would come served with ‘really nice potatoes’ but it came with...standard fries. And my side salad tasted like fish.More
We had a lovely early evening meal here. The service was warm and attentive. My pizza was one of the best I’ve ever eaten. My wife’s pasta norma was outstanding as well. We felt a real sense of well-being. Even though it was getting busier...as I had my cappuccino they insisted that I shouldn’t rush it. The night before we’d spent four times as much for a second rate meal at James Martin’s. Proof that paying more doesn’t equate with getting better food.More
Having visited this restaurant a few months ago with some people that highly recommend it and we had a great first experience, we decided to give it a second go on a shopping trip to Manchester. All started so well the sun was shining Prosecco...and my husbands peroni were very chilled. Excellent starter deep fried calamari the best we’ve had. Unfortunately it went down hill from there. We then waited at least 40 mins for our main, which I mentioned to two of the waiting staff and that previous customers had sat down had their mains well before us. Basically forgotten our order !!! Very frustrating. Eventually our food arrived snd my husband had to send back his doughy pizza, only to be returned which wasn’t much better. To be fair I had a seafood spaghetti which was delicious. We complained to the waitress who deducted the pizza from our bill. Unfortunately this has put my husband off visiting again. Such a shame.More
Went to the restraunt based on trip advisor, staff were lovely however I'm afraid that was the best part. The sharing starter was so bland, risotto was barely a mouthful and lacking any real taste.
We got a rare sunny day and decided to have lunch outside at Salvi's . We were under their Summer canopy at the front of the Corn Exchange venue. The current menu is definitely limited compared to what used to be on offer. We decided...to go for a sharing platter. Unfortunately when it came it was pretty bland and disappointing. I did not photograph it, but it did resemble the recent photo posts on here. I have just seen them before typing this! The platter was lacking in colour and interest in our opinion as well as lacking olives and ordinary bread. We had to ask for more bread and still only two small slices arrived among the wrapped breadsticks and little bread rings. I really wished I had ordered something else and my friend felt the same. However the cheeses on the platter were very tasty and the house rose was fantastic and at £19 a bottle represents brilliant value. In addition our fair haired waitress was also absolutely charming. The restaurant is in a prime location and they have to capitalise on the new trend for including al fresco dining in different weathers. Downstairs in the main dining room it was pretty quiet. Sadly the Salvi's prosecco bar inside in the Corn Exchange has recently changed hands.More
Absolutely loved this Italian restaurant, downstairs from an Italian shop selling ham and specialist sweets. Wonderful wine, and very friendly staff. Banter about my Man City shirt and the game that afternoon!
I’ve been in Salvi’s a few times and it has always been a nice experience. Food is authentic Italian and the stuff is always very friendly and attentive. I think they reduced the choices on the menu compared to pre-pandemic but I could be wrong...(I asked the waitress but she wasn’t 100% sure). I will definitely return in the future, it feels like being at home in Italy.More
Lovely experience, staff were welcoming and attentive, and the food was beautiful and authentic. We had a sharing platter, chips and some drinks, everything was fresh and very tasty. Will definitely come again
