Arrived new years day for a meal for mysel my wife and our son and partner ...venue was busy but were swiftly shown tona table ...drinks were great and reasonably priced ..starters were awesome especially the silk platter for two ..again reasonably priced...main courses were all piping hot and full of flavour and portions were plentiful to the point we had to take a doggy bag home. Ali the host and his wife are lovely people and if there is something you fancy that is not on the menu they will always try to oblige. Of the many indian restaurants we visit this is our favourite.

I took my wife there for her birthday meal, and it was a first visit for the both of us, however it certainly wont be the last.
The service was very fast with friendly and helpful staff who couldn't do enough for us.
The food once ordered came very fast and was piping hot and extremely tasty and neither my wife or I were disappointed.
I would definitely say it was value for money, and if you're thinking of going for an Indian, then i would highly recommend The Silk Route.

Food is always good and fresh. Tuesday 12/10/2021 @ 18.30 and a table for 4 with visiting friends from Scotland. Friends were well impressed with the spacious seating arrangements, the ambiance and lighting.....Table was well attended with a soon drinks order along with 4 popadums ( quite large ) and a chutney tray " to being going on with during the menu navigation ! " A couple of questions as far as the mains, then the order was placed. The mains order arrived within a reasonable time on a trolley and all the food order was delivered WITHOUT any shortages at the same time. The food was excellent and far better than a large certain ( chain ) establishment located on Church Street in Preston Centre. Cost for 4 people, including a pint, double gin and tonic, 2 bottles of wine and water, popadums, chutney tray and 4 mains ( including King Prawn Shashlick ) was £120.00. Upon reading certain reports here, well I can only surmise that certain persons would find fault with six winning numbers within a Lottery ticket on a saturday night, so my advice to those would be to buy a morrison's ready cooked chicken along with a jar of Patak's curry Sauce

Visited in view of good reviews. Bad decision in hindsight.
This Bangladeshi outlet masquerading as Indian is poor quality - reviewers scoring high should compare tough and tasteless lamb chops to EastzEast - a Pakistani Punjabi outlet in Preston (or Manchester/Liverpool).
Curried lamb meat was tough also and without flavour.
Shockingly customer service was disgraceful with the proprietor audibly shouting when challenged. Rude and tasteless behaviour bordering on customer profiling is unsurprising though given ethnic background of owner/proprietors.

We have ordered from just eat at 8.15 and was advised that the del would be 9.15. Called at 9.45 and was advised that the food was collected at 8.30 now 10.00 and still not arrived and was told to call just eat who was no help at all. She then cancelled the order. Is a shame as this was my favourite Indian but I will never order delivery from here again if that is the service that you get from them. I know it is just eat but the man from the restaurant was not helpful at all and really didn’t care that we are still waiting for food from his restaurant.

Many thanks for your feedback. I have spoken with the member of staff who took your call regarding the order. Unfortunately with regards to Just Eat and Uber Eats we have very little information. We are sent an order with an order number, no name or address. We make the order and it is collected by a Just Eat courier. As soon as the order leaves the restaurant we have no further control. We are very sorry that your order did not reach you, however your complaint should be directed to Just Eat and not us. We would hope that you would continue to visit our restaurant and indeed order directly as we are offering free delivery. If you would like to discuss the matter further please do not hesitate to contact me on 01772 378998.

Came here with friends who had never visited this Indian restaurant. I had recommended it and wish I hadn’t.
Waited a while for someone to acknowledge we were in the restaurant. Stood at waiting area for a while. Table booked for 8pm, was shown to our table 8.30pm despite plenty of available tables.
Disappointed with the manager/head waiter who was not listening to what we were ordering and asked to repeat ourselves. He was too busy looking around. Then he disappeared to answer the phone whilst giving our orders. Surely the lady behind the bar who was serving drinks could have done that?
Poppadoms arrived with disappointing half filled chutney tray. Not at all tempting. Poppadoms were fresh and crispy. Onion Bhaji ok.
Curries ordered. My dopiaza was quite pale and watery, usually served thicker with lots of tomatoes and onions. Hubby and friends chose madras, wasn’t blown away with its spiciness. Definitely not as hot as usual Madras curries.
Rice was served in a plastic bowl, upside down on a plate. Naan bread was ok.
Disappointed with the waiter who brought our food to table, very miserable, leant fully across the front of my husband to give me my plate, but practically threw it on the table!!! Not impressed and he didn’t even say excuse me. I told him that was rude. No apology received.
Asked young, untidily dressed waitress if we could order drinks. She told us she would be back in 2 minutes. After 10 minutes we asked her again if we could order drinks. Drinks arrived without any apology for the delay.
This girl needs training on how to dress and smile at paying customers. Not impressed with the black tatty trainers she was wearing and unkempt hair.
The staff including the manager/head waiter/front of house definitely need to ‘up’ their customer service or more people will be giving negative reviews. There’s no excuse for not being polite!
Busy or not busy, we won’t be back.

We've visited The Silk Route restaurant on a few occasions and also ordered a few take aways from them too. I can honestly say that it's the best Indian food I've ever had, (and I've tried a lot of Indian restaurants) not to mention the great service and friendly staff. Each visit the staff have gone above and beyond to make it an enjoyable experience and the food never disappoints! I would highly recommend this restaurant/take away service if you're looking for good quality, tasty, authentic Indian food. We won't go anywhere else now!

Thank you Silk Route, the introduction of a delivery service has been fantastic, particularly over the last few weeks, it has meant we can still enjoy a meal from our favourite restaurant. The menu choice is great, food is always very tasty and arrives piping hot. Best in town, thank you Silk Route. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The service was out standing and the food was even better. The staff were really friendly and helpful and answered all queries. When the order was changed, it was no problem for them to sort our order out.
I had the Mango chicken dish which was delicious, maybe a little sweet for some. Other family members enjoyed the Rogan Josh and the Korma. The succulent chicken the tasty sauces and the tasty garlic rice was enjoyed my the whole family. The portions were large and a meal for four fed five adults.
Outstanding value, cannot wait to go again.

We have been regular visitors to the Silk Route for the past couple of years. This has become our go to place for our favorite Indian food and quality family time. Ali, Lisa and Farooq and their team never fail to provide a warm welcome in a relaxing and clean environment.
Indian food is our most favorite and the variety of dishes and flavors on their menu is fantastic. They are always on hand with recommendations if we fancy trying something different and they have never failed us yet. The food is tasty and fresh and the portion sizes are great.
This year has been a difficult one for everyone and the Silk Route Team have kept going and smiling and have provided a clean and safe environment for their customers to relax in. It is one of just a couple of places i have felt safe venturing out to this past few moths.
Now we are in lock down again we are gutted that we cant visit the restaurant at the moment but the Silk Route are providing a first rate takeaway service as always. Food delivered to your door without any compromise on quality. Farooq himself delivered a take away to us on Friday night and the food was plentiful and piping hot still when it arrived. It put a smile on our faces and was a lovely end to a busy week.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Silk Route to anyone. Keep it local, have a night off cooking and enjoy a great feed.

Lovely surroundings, attentive and friendly staff, timely service, and great menu options. The food we ordered (samosas, mixed meat starter, jalfrezi chicken curry, chicken shashlik, bombay aloo, garlic and coriander naan and peshwari naan) was cooked and flavoured beautifully, and reasonably priced. Would go so far as to say the peshwawi naan was the BEST I've ever had. Would highly recommend A visit to the silk route - we will certainly be returning :-)

Top quality food served by happy, friendly staff in a restaurant that is obviously managed by someone who pays attention to detail. Last night every item on our plates was cooked to perfection and full of authentic taste, no surprise there because every meal is like this. Not cheap but certainly reasonable for the quality of food... those king prawns 😋 No.1 Indian in Preston for sure!

Visited during a brief stay in Preston, had read the reviews and recommendations of others online and was thoroughly impressed. The warm welcome, ambience and excellent soul music selections were greatly appreciated and the food itself was all delicious. We ordered cod jalfrezi and chicken Naga Jhal for mains with popadoms, coconut rice and plain naan. The dishes were excellent, great balance of flavours and good amount of spice. Also recommend a full jug of mango lassi, so fresh!

Me an my family all had a nice delicious meal as per usual last night as a treat. We would like to thank Ali who we know works really hard continuously an who had to turn the restaurant into a takeaway service over night an has made a success of an people love it, and applaud Lisa who works tirelessly throughout the day from 8am finishes her shift has a shower an head’s straight the restaurant to prepare lovely meals for people at home to enjoy, they stop what they’re doing at work stand outside at 8pm every Thursday an clap for the NHS an key workers. So my review isn’t just for my nice meal it’s for Ali, Lisa an all the staff too, an we will be clapping for you on Thursday night Thank you.
