The pub is so popular we had to reserve a table even at 5 P.M. Friday. Excellent service. Limited menu meaning everything is cooked fresh. Well prepared, slightly quirky food served by staff that know the dishes well enough to explain ingredients. Duck breast hash...More

I have never liked to see dogs in the dining area there, but usually the quality of food makes up for it. This time, while having our – average – meal there, I had the surprise of somebody’s great big dog sniffing at me then...More

Didn't eat, but sat in the garden with the dog and friends and enjoyed a few nice pints of different beers from the excellent and well kept selection. A nice place to spend a sunny afternoon. Combine with a walk in the adjacent Avenham Park.
