You can safely ignore the hysterical 1 star reviews. I have been coming to Saleem Bagh for over 20 years and a recent visit, my first since the pandemic, confirmed that the restaurant remains what it always has been - a traditional, reliable, local Indian restaurant, in pleasant surroundings with good food at reasonable prices. Service was polite and efficient. After a mediocre recent experience at a nearby “modern” Indian restaurant, the Saleem Bagh did not disappoint.

Ordered a takeaway for myself, it's hard to find a place that provides an excellent service and very delicious food.
Food come fresh and full with flavour, had to get a takeout as I couldn't dine in, but it was still very tasty.
Service is great too, hopefully I can come with my family and dine it. Will definitely will be back.

Well priced. Very welcoming and was able to fit us in even with no booking. Great customer service with a massive warm welcome. The food was delicious 😋 and we recommend the vegetable kurma with onion naan.

The food was nice but was brought out separately as we had a big group.
The staff wasn’t very friendly and was quite rude, leaning over to grab plates waiting for us to put the food on our plate so they can take the dishes.
The first thing that is most important is a friendly atmosphere and I didn’t get that here.

Upon arrival there was no sign of any hand sanitiser, when we got our table we were offered no drinks, no popadoms nothing.(I would understand if they were busy but there was only two tables occupied including us!) When we finally got served by a waiter he was extremely rude. Rushed our starters didn’t even get asked if we were finished he just taken our plates away while we still had food on our table. Food was very average could have made a better curry at home in all honesty would never return or recommend!!

Been here many, many times and it is still the best Indian restaurant in B93.
The staff have always been hospitable and most welcoming. They make dishes how we want them, nothing too oily... Food has always been excellent! Support local businesses and visit this place!!!

Very quiet midweek night. Nice smallish restaurant and a good menu choice.
Enjoyed a chicken tikka, potato and onion starter and chicken tikka minty with garlic naan and veg pilau. All tasty and good functional service.

Fantastic takeaway, standard of food and service consistent for 30 years +. Haven't been as frequently due to personal circumstances, however the manager greeted and remembered our family which was lovely. Will be back very soon 👍

Went to the local Bangladeshi takeaway for the first time since moving to the area. The food was very nice! Had so much flavour and the staff were lovely. Look forward to dine in next time.

As the waiter gave us our menus he asked us to leave a review, so here it is...
This is, without exception, THE WORST INDIAN FOOD I HAVE EVER TASTED, and potentially the worst food I've ever eaten at a restaurant. Unfortunately we had arrived in Dorridge to find the well-reviewed Chinese restaurant we had intended going to was closed. As options were limited and it was getting late we decided to take a chance on Saleem Bagh, which at the time was virtually empty save for a table for 2 eating in the window. Admittedly several more tables came in after us and we got the impression some were regulars, quite why anyone would patronise here regularly is beyond me!
All of the the food was painfully bland and surprisingly devoid of virtually any seasoning, the quality was poor and the curries looked and tasted like they had used tinned soup as a base, adding minimal herbs & spices in a very poor attempt to add flavour. We also got the impression some of it was pre-prepared well in advance and cooked from frozen. £4 for a pint that wasn't actually a pint of lukewarm flat budget brand cola.
Frankly, you could cook better Indian food than this at home, a ready meal from Sainsbury's opposite would've been a better option - wild horses would not drag us back!

The Saleem is our favourite for a curry! We would dine in before lockdown and have had almost a weekly takeaway since and the quality is amazing. Ali and his team are always so friendly and welcoming, they can’t do enough for you :)
