DOSA HOUSE, Dartford

I am courier driver. Went to pickup customers order , said it will be ready 2 or 3 minutes but took 15min and even more so after 20min cancelled the order. So fuming. The staff working in the kitchen are singing. Owner doesn't seem to...be there always. The staff doesn't not care at all if the orders are delivered or not. They dont seem to care about customer. So sad , this sort of filthy restaurant has come to this beautiful area. The roof is leaking on one side that's even worse. This place has to be shut. Do not order from this place. Would not recommend at all.More

Disgusting food and terrible service not recommend

On the 11th Jan I ordered a takeaway from Dosa House for the 1st time it was a huge disappointment, the food arrived in reasonable time but the standard was terrible it tasted stale and had a slimy constancy, we ordered a chicken tikka masala...that was so hot it was inedible everything looked as if it had been through a blender and 2 dishes were missing, I rang straight away and complained about the standard of the food and about the missing dishes, the man that answered the phone said he couldn’t understand what I was saying although he did an hour before when he was taking my order, I told him that the food was far below standard and since I hadn’t had 2 of the dishes I was overcharged, I also asked for them to pick up the dreadful food and give me a refund all of a sudden he didn’t speak English again, I asked for a manager he said no manager and he’ll get the manager to ring me in 15 minutes. I waited for 45mins then rang them again this time he told me that the refund would be put through my door on Wednesday well it’s Friday now and no refund and no contact even for the missing dishes. I would not recommend Dosa House for food or service.More

Top quality food

We have always gone to the other side of the river (East Ham/Ilford) for a quality dosa. When someone recommended this place we thought we would try it out, I must say we were surprised by the quality of the food. We have been there...a few times now and always found the food to be top notch. Some of the dishes that I really loved apart from the dosa, gobi munchurian and chilly Paneer. Unique in the area

We enjoy trying different restaurants offering different food from around the World, so when we were recommended the Dosa House we gave it a try. It’s a light, bright space with very friendly and helpful staff. The menu is a combination of South Indian as...well as Sri Lankan and our waiter took time to explain the menu in detail. The Sri Lankan beer was good and the wine list well priced. Between us we had a number of starters, the soup (very spicy), Devils Chicken and Chilli Paneer (very good). The waiter recommended the Mutton Roll so much that he gave us a portion to try and they were lovely. The Lamb Curry was a slight downside, tasty but lacking in lamb, as was the Chicken Curry. I would return and stick to the Sri Lankan starters and dishes.More

Pleasant surprise

After reading the Trip Adviser reviews we thought we would try it as have walked passed it many times. It really is the most friendly restaurant and the food is amazing. The waiter took time and trouble to go through the menu with us as...it was our first experience of Sri Lankan food. The restaurant was clean and well spaced out. We have already booked to go back.More

Great food but beware the spice

I regularly get delivery from dosa but ate in today. Great experience. My 2 year old enjoyed his Sri Lankan pancake soooo much, I asked for more when he finished. My wife’s soap was a bit spicy for her taste but full of flavour. I...loved my food too. Lovely relaxed feel in the restaurant tooMore

The food is delicious but waiting time is too long.

The food is delicious but they are extremely slow service and every time I go there they have messed up my order. Once they even forgot about by order. They get very busy as the food is good but they need to have more staff...and have a work strategy in place to work more efficiently and as too many people have to wait for long time and they loose business because a lot of people leave because for the waiting time is too long. If some one come to have just Dosa a quick snack it could take up to 2 hours from entering to finishing food.More
