The food was as you'd expect from a self-respecting establishment, but when I bit into my fish, it distinctly tasted off, so I rushed to the gents' and spat out the mouthful. Subsequent, gingerly-bitten pieces were okay, so I surmise that the piece I'd first eaten was accidentally warmed somewhere in its freezing-process. My main problem, however, was with the... More

Management response:

This review is not accurate as the pub does not have fish on the menu and has a selection of chairs that can easily be swapped. defiantly got the wrong pub More

We have eaten here a few times now. I've had the gammon steak before and on Friday night a delicious steak, my hubby is very keen on the Wheatsheaf Burger which comes with a homemade onion baji and relish. The food is always hot, tasty and well presented as well as good value. The landlord and landlady are both so... More

Three of us ate here on a Sunday lunchtime. We had eaten here a couple of years ago but found out that it had changed hands last September so thought that we would give it a go. We chose to eat in the dinning room which at the time was empty. The chairs were very comfortable. Although it was empty... More

This was the third pub we tried for lunch on a Monday, and at last we found somewhere which was serving food. It was empty, which suited us as we had met up to have a chat. It also meant our food was fresh cooked. The onion soup was good and served with a lovely soft roll. The ham, egg... More

This family run business is great value and comes with service with a smile. The owners can't do enough for you and despite there being a big crowd in for a birthday, we were really well looked after and served immediately. The food was hearty and filling - just what you need on cold Sunday afternoon. Great wine too. Highly... More

Dropped in early evening hoping for a meal for the 3 of us. Wasn't disappointed, the food was first class, service great and the beer was also 1st class.

We stopped by at the pub in the hope of grabbing a late Sunday lunch and we weren't disappointed. The value for money was great, no fuss but great service and good honest pub grub. Will definitely come again. The place was busy even though we arrived at gone 2.
