Thank you so much for fulfilling our request to make our takeaway last night plastic-free. You went out of your way to find an alternative, including utilising our own little pots for sauces and condiments. We will recommend you to our community of plastic-free campions! The food was delicious, a real treat. We were also impressed with your customer service and the friendly treatment the delivery guys received from you which we observed when we picked up our takeaway from the restaurant.

Delicious take away tonight. Piping hot, well spiced, and large portions, packed with tender meat - we opted for lamb and chicken - and well seasoned rice and dhal. Complimentary poppadoms is a nice touch. Worth every penny, great value. Hope to visit the restaurant when the restrictions lift. Thank you to the chef and staff at Aroma.

Four of us went to Aroma yesterday evening. From the very start, Abdul was the star of the “show”. Warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. He said up front that the food served at his restaurant was not the usual that we would expect. He was right! It was absolutely superb! Along with his son and two cooks they dealt with a full restaurant (approximately 14) , always with a smile and a joke. We all agreed that it had been the best experience we had had. We are in our late 60’s and early 70’s, so we’ve been around! If you can get a table at this restaurant, you will have probably the best authentic Asian meal that you will definitely enjoy. Thank you Abdul

We were in Gloucester for a few days, read your reviews and that is why we went there. We are regular eaters of Asian food but the restaurant is lacking in design to other 5* genuine restaurants we dine at,yes we are there for the decor and service as well as food as they go hand in hand with the service and the small interior compared to our visited restaurants we would list under 5*,there was no linen table cloth and cheap paper serviettes and plates were luke warm when the meal was served, the male waiter who served us was tops and helpful the female waitress (that are rare to see in other Asian restaurants we vist) seemed a little lost on the wine we ordered and believe she asked for advice and it was one of those occasions of where we would have liked to have seen the bottle where the wine in our glasses came from. the actual wine lacked the taste of our favorite wine and noted on the bill they charged for what we consider a cheap house wine so leave it at. that. The food no complaints they were unable to supply my favorite dish but made something special for me and served me with a small bowl of a taster of the sauce, excellent in all ways when I complimented them on the sauce they created and good to taste the spices with the food, their chef is good and we enjoyed the food that was ample.Could do with chefs like that in London as his culinary skills are good. Once paying the bill, there was no thank you or bye or as in other restaurants we visit every single week in the year opening the door, takes a few seconds so we thought poor service to other restaurants and little other things, table clothes and 100% no no to paper serviettes, means cheapness and cost-cutting, getting a proper serviette all folded in different ways that they do in other fine fine restaurants adds a bit of class as should the decor and table presentation but if you only here for the food, its good. But must admit we payhigher prices elsewhere , as would have helped our thoughts but was noted it was the house wine on the bill presented, it lacked the taste of our favorite wine we drink. . The service was fine as were,,the meals were tasty and the meals served were plentiful, the chicken moist, they have a good chef there we would not rate the whole expierence as 5* compared to Restaurants we visit every single week more 3*+ When we paid and on leaving there was no thanks or goodbye or escort to the door and we have compared this restaurant to the ones we visited elsewhere in England and that includes London my home town and in this area in Cheltenham ,a few miles away this month in June 2021.at the Indian Voo IRestarant.

We visited after a lack of choice for restaurants open on a Sunday evening. We used the hand sanitiser and entered contact details as soon as we walked in. No data protection here as I could see the other customers contact details on the same page. What’s the point of using the hand sanitizer Then writing the contact details for track and trace with the same pen every uses? The waiter was not wearing uniform or even wearing smart clothes so felt out of place and not professional. Our drinks order was taken quickly, menu explained well but as a one man band he was quite rushing the talk. The king prawn starter was very nice, the recommended chicken dish with 18 spices was ok, the daal just not as flavoursome and the korma sauce had too much sugar in. The kulfi dessert was delicious. The waiter was too busy sitting at a desk with paperwork and then flipping to working just felt like half office half restaurant. £50 for 2 people not bad. Very stingy on chutneys with poppadoms and no exit greeting.

We turned up at approximately 8pm on a Saturday night so knew it would be busy. However, after taking our details, we were given a table. We have been to hundreds of Indian restaurants in our time and unfortunately the décor in this restaurant, really was not authentic at all. We could have been in any restaurant. That said, the staff were really friendly. It would have been rated higher had the dish I had chosen, been able to be lamb and not chicken, as in other Indian restaurants. The food itself was nice and could tell was homemade, just not my favourite meal I have had. The food was cooked well and the prices were fair though. My husband enjoyed it more than I did, but the whole experience, was just a 3.

Just returned from Aroma Gloucester and was so disappointed I had to write a review. I understand this place is a finalist for curry of the year so felt I had to try it. However the starter was ok but the main was terrible . My husband and I both had kohzi Chettinadu which was supposedly flavoursome with 18 spices. However those spices were from a Curry powder that hadn’t been cooked out properly. To top it all off we didn’t even get a chocolate or mint or even hand wipes with the bill. Give this place a miss, I can cook better!

This is a favourite restaurant and visited frequently. Went last night with 10 friends. The reception warm and friendly, the service excellent and the food was first class. Particularly enjoyed the Kadai Lamb and Chennai Fish Curry, options I would overlook when visiting on my own or with just one other Thank you

Amazed to come across this lovely restaurant in such a little place. We've been to many Indian restaurants, you will see I've reviewed a few! This was one of the finest; food was absolutely superb; good portion size, excellent quality and not expensive. Biggest disappointment was for the Manager in that it was SO quiet for a Friday night, but hey we're post Covid still. Service was good, beer was good, decor was good everything was. One last thing to add though. For me a really excellent restaurant is measured by it's food (first and foremost, obviously) but also the cleanliness of the toilets; if they are pristine, you trust everywhere is. Got to say I've been in top hotels that weren't as smart as here. Well done all round - some of the restaurants in big cities should take note - or the owners here should move to Birmingham or Bristol and maintain standards - they'd make a fortune. Thanks

A lovely and cosy authentic Indian restaurant. Good choice of vegetarian options and made to taste. We wanted some very mild and some very spicy options and all were made available. Lots of nice drinks available too. Best was their Bombay Bicycle IPA. Staff is very caring and the person who looked after us went above and beyond to make our kids comfortable. Excellent central location close to the Quay and docks area. Next time in Gloucester, will visit again.

My wife and I had a late evening meal in Aroma after visiting Bourton. The host was extremely friendly and welcoming on arrival and continued to be very helpful in telling us about the cuisine. We had one starter and two curries with lemon rice and Nan bread. curries were full of flavour and not at all greasy or oily. Rice was delicious and fluffy with lots of Lemon fragrance (best I have tasted) Overall an excellent experience but one that is made all the better by the host who was very natural, funny and friendly. We look forward to our next visit and hope that others enjoy the delicious food and warm welcome.

Saw this place had some really good reviews and it was also 30 seconds walk from where we were staying. Restaurant is quite contemporary inside and with friendly and attentive staff. We ordered our starters and had poppadoms and chutney tray to start. For starters, me and my wife had Pudina Lamb Chops and they were superb. Very tender and cooked to perfection. Our guests had Murgh Malai Tikka. Absolutely wonderful stuff. With our meal we had a nicely chilled bottle of Champagne. For mains, I had Goan Prawn Massala and my wife had Malabar Lamb. There was so much meat in both and the lamb just melted. Prawns were just amazing and there was plenty of sauce with both dishes. As well as this we had a cheese naan which must simply have been one of the best I've had with loads of cheese and herbs, and perfectly cooked so a little crispy but with lots of nice melty cheese. Our guests had a Chicken Biryani and Kozhi Chettinadu and a plain and keema naan. For rice, we had lemon rice and pilau. It's so nice to go somewhere and get such wonderful food with no exceptions at all, and be served by such nice staff who were not trying to rush you. We really could've stayed in here all night and will definitely go again when visiting Gloucester.

It was unable to meet my expectation. This restaurant was recommended by others, so I visited with my family and friends for a lunch. The overall food quality, cleanliness is not at per for example the Chicken Majestic were not cooked properly. When we reported the same the response of the manager was wearied. The utensils (Spoons) were not cleaned properly and when we reported the same the attitude was very defensive. The funniest part was they served drinks with spoiled (with hole) straw. The overall feedback is the entire team is very casual and they need to improve the customer management skills. There are multiple better options are available in Gloucester.

We were so looking forward to going for an Indian meal during our Gloucester stay, the reviews seemed great so we opted for Aroma. The decor was nice, the staff were very pleasant and it seemed busy! Unfortunately that's where the good experience ended. It all began it's the starters .... the onion bhajis could have smashed a window they were so hard and the lamb kebabs were somehow both bland and spicy - who knows how this was achieved. The butter chicken curry was no better than a Sainsburys own jar, unfortunately the price was a little higher. We had higher hopes for the lamb biryani but it only seemed to get worse. Dry lamb and gritty sauce covering rice didn't quite live up to our expectation's, all accompanied by the most bizarre naan I've ever eaten. That's £58 we aren't ever getting back, my advice? Don't bother.
