Traditional pub like I remember years ago without the smoke! Very warm welcome. Menus could do with a revamp as paper and insert looks tatty. Tables could to with a revamp as look old and could do with a clean. In terms of the food...More

The minute we walked into the Travellers Rest we were made to feel at home and welcomed by the friendly staff. The atmosphere in the pub was cosy and calm, with a quaint, olde world feel and oak beams. The staff were very attentive and...More

Had an early evening meal here and found it to be a great little pub. We went in with our dog a big German Shephard and were greeted by a young lad at the bar who showed us where we could sit with the hound,...More

Went to this pub on my birthday after being in Harrogate. It's a lovely country pub near Rudding Park. Received a lovely warm welcome despite there being a function on in the main restaurant area. Had a fabulous home cooked meal and delicious birthday dessert!...More

We met friends at this pub and had a lovely lunch. The food was very good and the staff friendly. A major advantage for us was that dogs are allowed so we could bring our two cavaliers with us too. It's open all day, so...More

Seventeen of us visited yesterday for lunch and a chance for relative from far afield to meet the new babies, two of which are identical twins. Even the teenagers took to the wee ones giving them cuddles etc. Due to the numbers we pre booked...More

Visited tonight with our pup, Dudley. Very dog friendly pub - all the staff gave Dudley some love & a doggie biscuit or two. We ordered a lasagne & the special - fish pie. Both were good size portions, great value & tasty! Highly recommended!!

We went here on a sunny Friday lunch time. We sat in the conservatory, which was a bit warm. The food and service were great. Great value for money.

We have eaten here many times over the past years, mostly lunchtimes and never been as disappointed as last night, Yes the pub itself is a lovely, quaint one, but last night, although quiet, the service and meal left so much to be desired. After...More

Description
The Traveller’s Rest dates from the middle of the 17th Century and offers fantastic views over Crimple Valley, and for those twitchers amongst us don't forget all the Red Kites we have flying by and the white crow that roosts in the tree opposite. This quaint, rural pub is one of two pubs on the famous 'Ringway Walk' around Harrogate which runs along the private lane where the Traveller's Rest is situated. We are a stone's throw from the affluent spa town of Harrogate so you have the best of both worlds. The interior boasts old wooden beams, a stoned floor area and also a light airy conservatory which leads to the garden area. This is a perfect place for a celebration or get together for a function. The enviable position of the Traveller’s Rest is what makes it a very special destination, for a lovely meal or relaxing drink of traditional beer or glass of wine. We welcome local regulars, ladies who lunch and, given the walks around us, muddy boots and dogs! We even provide water bowls for our four legged friends.
