This was my first visit to this cafe and deli. It's fairly trendy with minimalistic decor. Staff were very quick and friendly, and the food was fresh and very well presented. The place was very busy the Saturday lunchtime that we visited, and by the...time we left at 02:30, there was a queue of 12 people waiting for tables. The deli downstairs has all Irish products which look very appealing, although some are fairly expensive. Overall, a very good experience with tasty food. Worth a visit if you are in town.More

Healthy fresh and taste second to none.Great to eat so close to the sea so close to Dublin. I would go back.

The food is nice, the atmosphere of the place would be a lot better if not feeling like we were being squashed in like sardines on very uncomfortable chairs. Have come across some pretty rude staff there for no reason. One one occasion I had...only inquired about getting a table/ a place to sit (as they often put a couple of people on the one table together) and she was just not pleasant at all. I really want to like Rua Deli as Castlebar needs an injection of something different in it but it's just so much hype for a place with big issues who are an establishment dealing with the public.More

Had lunch here recently with friends when visiting Mayo. I had soup (very bland), a brownie and coffee. Overpriced and a little underwhelming after hearing great things.

Rua is a good place for lunch or a quick snack. Located near the Mall in the town, this is always a busy spot. The daily specials are always interesting but you may have to get there ahead of the crowd to ensure your selection...is available! Pleasant and efficient staff. Always a good experience.More

Breakfast is 9.50 without coffee.Would want a great stomach for it. Sausages and rashers looked like they cooked a week earlier. Was more sicker walking out than I was going in.

I ate here with friends during our Wild Atlantic Way trip. I had eaten here before so had to show my friends how lovely it is. 4 of us ordered an array of food. All of it was delicious we all agreed! I went for...the falafel myself. It was plentiful and oh so tasty. It took me ages to decide what I actually wanted but the falafel was a winner!More

I first discovered this gem of a cafe on my last visit to Ireland two years ago when I stopped in castlebar on the way to westport and was in need of refreshment. I was impressed by the quality of the food and the wonderful...Irish hospitality. So on a recent return visit with my partner and his two children, I was eager to return and insisted we stop here for lunch. They serve a delicious selection of sandwiches, soups and light lunches combining the best of local Irish produce with continental staples. I had a warm panini with chicken and pesto served with a side of salad and Irish style saute potatoes. They also offer a selection of very appealing home made cakes. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxing and there is also a selection of daily newspapers for patrons to read while enjoying a drink.More

Enjoyed my lunch so much I forgot to take a photo!! Chicken salad with wonderful dressing on salad leaves. Carrot and sesame seeds salad delicious. Would definitely recommend and judging by the amount of customers a busy local spot. Restaurant upstairs and a fab deli...downstairs, spent way more in the deli than I intended to but my hubby ate every crumb when I returned home. Had lunch here as a reunion with my school friends this week, the food was amazing, squash root soup to start was lovely little disappointed they only had one soup on, the main courses were Beautiful, everything so fresh and tasty, the chicken coconut and...spinach curry with homemade flatbreads was sooo goood, I d go back today if I knew it was on, chicken croistini as always top class and a vegetarian option. To follow we had lovely coffee and walnut cake and gorgeous coffees! The waitress was lovely, I d say she was a manger as she was very elegantly dressed made us feel really welcome! One small complaint, sorry there has to be one the restaurant was cold! Otherwise if you are in the area call in!!!!More
