THE TAN YARD, Killarney

The Tan Yard in Killarney offers a casual, high quality dining experience in an interior setting inspired by the historical tan yards of Killarney, where hides of livestock where tanned to produce leather. The Tan Yard menu features delicious steaks and burgers from the grill, fresh fish, salads and our 'favourites', all served from 5pm - 9.30pm from Monday to Sunday. Children's menu available.

Outstanding

By far one of the best meals I have ever had…. Only outdone by the amazing service from Angelo. We were a group of ten from Canada here for a wedding. The Tan Yard was recommended by our taxi driver and from start to finish...it was spectacular. We enjoyed various dishes from the menu and all of it was perfect. The atmosphere coupled with the fantastic service made a night to remember. I have travelled many places around the globe and this meal ranks in the top. Highly recommend !More

Great food and drinks

I was recommended the Tan Yard by a friend and it did not disappoint from the second we stepped foot in the door the host David treated us like we were the only people in the building and went through the menu thoroughly with us...and was very knowledgeable about the menu and made our decisions easy. The manager Angelo came down to check our food and drinks were okay for us and we had a little chat about football and other things made it feel like I was chatting to an old friend. Would really recommend the Tan Yard and will definitely be back.More

Fancy atmosphere and helpful staff

We didn't realize that the restaurant is in the Killarney Plaza Hotel, and we felt under-dressed. However, the staff treated everyone equally, and we were well cared for during our meal. We decided to splurge and split the Tomahawk steak, and with this, we could...choose two sides. I was in heaven with my sugar snap peas with bacon and hazelnuts, while my husband enjoyed the broccoli. Our steak was prepared correctly, and was sliced off the bone for us. Unfortunately, it was fairly tough throughout, although the flavor was good. We both really liked the chimichurri sauce. Overall, a nice meal.More

Perfect Dinner Date

Nice dinner while in Killarney

Amazing service

We visited the tan yard last Saturday night. The decor was fabulous and food amazing the scallop starter was exquisite. The highlight was the amazing service from angelo . He ensured my 2 kids were well looked after and entertained which gave us time to...relax and enjoy our dinner. He is a lovely gentleman and we will make sure to visit when in killarney again. Do you need to book a table?

Answer

Hi Siobhan, it's a good idea to book on our busier nights but it's not necessary - there may be a small wait on some nights and you can enjoy a drink downstairs in Café du Parc while you wait a short time if that is the case.
