Nice place to go for brunch at the weekend. It is often busy but worth the wait. They use proper local produce and their pancakes are also excellent as is the relish they serve with their fry up.

A real surprise. I had heard of Ard Bia at Nimmos. Some friends told me that I had to try it out when in Galway City. It was certainly was worth checking out. Ard Bia is located behind the Spanish Arch, and in front of Galway City Museum, and on the waterfront at the old pier. It is a small... More

Visited last weekend -menu limited but food very flavorsome and well presented. Had to order side portions of veg and potatoes -not good enough as paying enough for main courses. Waitress was totally disinterested. Service extremely slow.

Table for two pre-booked. Remarkably unwelcoming hostess/waitress on our arrival. Took our order after a half-hour wait. Food arrival almost an hour after we entered. Steak temperature and quality ok. Fish not hot - warm only. Plates not heated properly. Fish portion size not adequate. Therefore poor overall product/experience. Desultory at best. Wouldn't go back for a while (if ever).

Wow, the food here is superb. We visited on a Monday evening and the restaurant was busy, all the tables were taken. We had booked our table and it's a small cosy place. We were there for business, and that was fine, it was the food that really shone. The food was al. Freshly prepared, the menu was small and... More

I was treated to an amzing meal here with my coworkers based in Galway. Each course was better than the next. Toss in the charm of the actual building and courtesy of the staff, and you have a delightful find.

Do not miss Sunday brunch at this small charming restaurant that serves wonderful, interesting food! Service is friendly and very good. I enjoyed brunch so much that I returned later in my visit for lunch, which was an interesting and perfectly executed quinoa vegetable salad served with excellent bread. There is much well-deserved buzz about this restaurant. Its location near... More

Galway city has dozens of excellent and trendy restaurants, so I felt lucky to find by accident upon Ard Bia (the Irish for High Food) on a rainy day at lunchtime. This small restaurant is tucked away behind the Spanish Arch. Originally a custom house, this is situated on the quay wall overlooking the storm-blown Claddagh River rushing by outside... More

One of the most memorable places and meals for many years. A really authentic atmosphere, with natural food which oozes goodness and taste. Very attentive hosts who facilitate a great experience. I hope to get back soon.
