Anyone staying in this area should experience dinner on the Orient Express. The train tickets are a nice touch. Would recommend you make a reservation. The service is very good as is the food. Would have liked to see more in the way of vegetarian options. But the monk fish was quite good. I'm not sure I'd come back for... More

Pullman is located in an original Orient Express car, which is quite unique. All of our meals were outstanding and done to perfection. Nice wine and beer selection.

Myself and my husband dined here this weekend, our third time in 17 years, we got engaged here in 2000. We were really looking forward to our trip down memory lane, the setting, the immaculately tended grounds, the wonderful cozy period decor and soothing pianist playing in the drawing room had us wishing we had been able to overnight, only... Visited here with friends for what was supposed to be an enjoyable dinner, but in fact was a complete let down. Food and service was just ok which should not be the case at €60 p/head...without drinks !!

Leave the luxury of Glenloe Abbey Hotel with its modern amenities and step across the carpark and back in time to the Pullman Restaurant of. a different era. A never to be forgotten experience. We were met by very courteous staff and ushered down the corridor of the carriage to our compartment. The door was closed and we were left... More

We had booked a three night stay in the Hotel and wanted to dine in The Pullman as we had been twice before on previous visits to Galway and enjoyed the experience very much. We were not disappointed. The dinner was excellent and the service was brilliant. It's a very different and enjoyable experience well worth a visit!

We visited Glenlo Abbey for Afternoon Tea we were shown to a lovely room with tables set with linen tablecloths and serviettes. Our table had a lovely view of the Golf Course and the river. We were served our tea and coffee immediately but our food arrived at least 20 minutes later. The portions per person were tiny, quarter of... More

The Pullman Restaurant on the grounds of Glenlo Abbey Hotel is one of Ireland's truly unique dining experiences. Comprising of two dining carriages from the Orient Express, beautifully restored and now set on the grounds of the 5 star Glenlo Abbey Hotel, offers panoramic views overlooking Lough Corrib. Located just 2 miles from Galway, on the West Coast of Ireland, this is a dining experience not to be missed on your trip to Galway. One of the carriages, the Leona, dates back to 1927 and was part of the original Orient Express and carried VIP's all over Europe and the UK during its lifespan. 1965 saw Leona's final journey when she was used as part of Winston Churchill's funeral cortege. After this event, Leona with other carriages played a staring role in the classic movie, "Murder on the Orient Express", which featured greats such as Albert Finney, Lauren Bacall and Sean Connery. Opened in May 1998, the Pullman Restaurant aboard the Orient Express enjoys fabulous views of Lough Corrib and ironically 300 metres away from the old track bed of the now lost Galway-Clifden railway line. Majestically rising from the still waters of Lough Corrib and dating back to the 18th Century, the 5 star Glenlo Abbey Hotel is where old world charm meets contemporary elegance. From the moment you drive through our magnificent cast iron gates the beauty of this enchanting lakeside estate overlooking Lough Corrib will captivate you.
