Had a ball here with our extended family ranging in age from 23-80! Found a snug and enjoyed the spectacle all around us! Loved the history, music, art, and vibe of the place!

Stepping into Neachtains on any night of the week is akin to stepping back into a Galway before the turn of the century, and by that I mean the 20th century! It's musty, old wood bar and shelving, littered with as many Scotch and irish malts as could be fit, dominates the front-end into which the whole of Galway (on... More

This is one of the more traditional style pubs in Galway, decorated in old wood, with little nooks and snugs. There is also a range of second-hand books, an open fire and various interesting features. There is outside seating on both Quay Street and Cross Street. Service is friendly and efficient.

Crapped place but great for a pint or two of local beers. Impressive Scotch selection if you are looking for something different then Irish whiskey

I stopped here on a whim as I was walking back to my B&B. This tiny pub was packed with friendly people and a super helpful staff. The crowd was completely mixed, having everything from people dancing to the live music, to a woman knitting in the corner! I ended up talking to everyone from the bartenders to other groups... This bar was so cool! I thought it was a middle eastern bar from the colors outside, but it was in fact this really old multi-room Irish bar. It was such a cool atmosphere. This awesome Irish band played just sitting around a small corner table drinking Guinness.

I love heading to Neachtains - great staff and great ambience. You can always strike up a conversation with some of the random characters bobbing around the city. They will kick you out if you're in a big group and being a little too boisterous however - maybe not the worst thing!

Tigh Neachtains, what's not to love? It's like going back in time while still being in a modern area. It's the perfect little country style pub that's situated in the city. A great spot for anyone to go to especially on a warm sunny day, where you can sit outside and soak up the sun while watching the world go... More

Great atmosphere, great crowd, good Guiness, and on a sunny day be early to grab one of the few outside tables on the side street, not one on the main drag.

If you enjoy a beer or whisky, or a cup of coffee Tigh Neachtains is a must visit. The ambiance and character of this place for local and tourist alike is simply wonderful and not to be missed. This is a real traditional old Irish pub that did not come out of a 40 foot container. We called in on... More
