Finnegan's is reliable for basic comfort food. It's hard to pass up the Irish beef stew, but I've also had the beef lasagna and shepherd's pie. I love the apple tart. Service was very good this past Saturday when I went. The servers were very friendly and attentive. In times past I've gotten Eastern European waitresses but this time both... More

We were sucked in by the medieval facade. Once inside, looks like a cheap cafe. We should have left straight away. Sad and unfriendly staff who sweep the floor around you whilst you are waiting. Husband's 'cottage pie' was a mish mash of gravy made from granules and grey meat. The plate was filled with watery cabbage and carrot (we... More

Have been going here for a decade or more - unpretentious food. big portions, great value, friendly and helpful staff and the grub always hits the spot. Only two weeks ago I brought some out of town friends there for the first time for the full Irish and it totally set us up for the day, An old favourite that... More

We chose this restaurant at random. We started to get a bad vibe after ordering. They have a bowl of free apples at the register that the propreitor runs his hands over to pass the time. The Smoked salmon open sandwich had hair stuck to the bread and dust in the salad. We paid and left without finishing. The dour... More

Not recommended for people in powerchairs unless the weather permits you to eat el fresco as there are a couple of tables outside. You will make it inside if you are in a self propelled chair if someone can push your chair, narrow door, old building. Small step at the entrance, you can get in by going in reverse but... More

I ate here during my visit to Galway and the food and service were really good. Really big plates at a good price. Staff is really nice and orders go fast! Really good place for some Irish Food!

This is not a world class five star restaurant, but they serve authentic Irish food, just what we were looking for. I had the Irish Stew, that came with multiple vegetables and was so filling, there was no room for dessert (we did make room for a Guinness though!). This is pub food at its best, and we were thoroughly... More

Eat here, advertised as oldest pub in Galway. Provides Irish meals, we had Irish Stew. Good value and service, Tiny, so take your chances on getting a table, we were there on a Thursday and in March so no problems.
