Went to the kai for the first time last week with my fiancé and as a coeliac it's hard sometimes to be able to just choose what you would like as there's never a large selection. In here they do 6 dishes for the lunch and they where all available gluten free apart from one which I was delighted about... More

Personally I like lunch or brunch here over the dinner. It's a lovely little restaurant with lovely staff to match. It's a small menu with whatever came in fresh that morning. The food is so fresh and tasty and the desserts are some of the best in Galway!!!!

We enjoy Kai. This visit was as good as ever. The restaurant opens at 6.30 for the first sitting and when we arrived the place was full. So book well in advance. The meals are as different and the quirky menu and are excellent. Service was good and we were not rushed but we were gone easily before the next... More

It was a cookbook night at the restaurant (they hold 4 each year Jan-Apr). The theme was Palomar, based on recipes from restaurant of same name in Soho London. Middle eastern style food. We started with a cocktail, Lions Milk with zambucca, followed by a selection of mezzes(5 in all), main dishes (3) and desserts (2). The flavours were awesome.... More

Have eaten here a few times and each time enjoyed immensely. What is remarkable is the ingredients used, everything is fresh and wholesome, the combinations were perfect. Could not fault in anyway. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Service was swift. Cakes were yummy !

We called in around 3pm and booked a table for 7pm. We had a slight change of plan and had no issues when we rang to alter our reservation to 6.30. So happy we did as for a Wednesday night the place was full at 7.15 and we were ahead of the orders. The menu is eclectic and the server... More

We ate there today for lunch, I had the bruschetta with roast pumpkin and mozzarella, the roast pumpkin was lovely but the bread was toasted too much and was very hard to eat. The peanut butter meringue stack that we shared for dessert was absolutely beautiful!

From the moment we arrived you could feel the relaxed vibe but then on top of that we had top class food and impeccable table service. The menu is interesting as it may force your hand to be slightly adventurous on some dishes which is a great way for restaurants to be. For starters we had venison and also the... More

We walked out from Eyre Square today and we're delighted to get a table for lunch. From an intriguing menu, I chose a delicious warming beef and chorizo stew. John had fresh fish fingers. I finished with a yummy almond cake and John had the fabulous deep bake apple tart. I would highly recommend Kai for its delicious food and... More
