Stopped by by for lunch. Had soup followed by tea and cake. Soup excellent as was bread but cakes were not quite fresh and a little tasteless. Expensive for lunch - 94 euro - but a nice treat while in Galway.

I love this quaint little tearoom. Unfortunately I don't live in Galway and rarely get to visit. I studied in NUIG part time and each time I was in a uni workshop I tried to visit Cupan Tae if I could. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. There is a great selection of teas and the staff are lovely... More

What a joke. I was served a mere sliver of cake at Cupan Tae yesterday. Perhaps a member of staff made a mistake when cutting it and slipped this measly slice onto a plate hoping that the customer would say nothing. I politely complained about the portion size but all the staff members did was make a polite apology in... More

Nice to find a place like this with old traditional values, even the music playing in the background us older than me. Worth a visit, try to avoid peak breaktimes.

I'm afraid I can't comment much on the food or the tea as I never got that far! Visiting by myself and asking for a table for one, it was clear from the outset that they were not overly thrilled at giving away a table to just one person. The waitress made a bit of a deal of having me... More

Called on a very wet Friday afternoon. Lovely and cosy, wee bit squashed but beautiful afternoon tea for €15. Would recommend.

Got off the train and ran straight to Cupan Tae for some lunch. Its the happiest little gourmet cafe with so many delicious offerings that its hard to know where to begin. A little on the expensive side but I dont care because its such a treat. With lovely Teapots and fine China cups, Pretty Table cloths and Ragtime music... More

Myself and my partner of many years traveled to Galway for an Easter break and came across this little gem of a tea shop. From the moment we step foot inside, we knew we were instantly at home. From the warm service, to the of the fellow guests and the sweet aroma that filled the air I knew this was... More

Charming place for breakfast or tea, and great for watching the world go by in Galway. The baked goods are delicious, the service delightful, and the atmosphere is perfect.
