My husband has been passionate about this restaurant after visiting it 12 years ago. He said the lamp chops were to die for and we now know they still are! We shared the chef's starter dish which was also scrumptious. The service was excellent. The...More

Fed up with the 'Oirishness' of the bars and restaurants in the Temple Bar area we took a chance and dived into the smaller side streets and found this little gem of a restaurant. Great selection of authentic Nepalese food served by efficient and attentive...More

Excellent varied menu of Nepalese food with a wide selection of wines to compliment the dishes. It's a quiet oasis from all the activity from the Temple area. Well appointed wall with tasteful photos & paintings of the Himalayan mountain range. Sadly, no one working...More

Mercifully tucked away from the main tourist drag and unnoticed by many - this is an absolute must for all lovers of spicy Asian food - I feel a bit of a traitor for revealing its location to be honest. Try the momos - authentic...More

The food here was great!! We booked a table, as we went on a Saturday night, and I'm glad we did. The place was heaving and they were turning passing by trade away at times, as they were so busy. The menu is really interesting...More

We were recommended by an Irish. Really good food and nice atmosphere. A little expensive but worth it. I hade the bad taste of choosing a Riesling (white wine) that I thought was really bad. But that's me and again....the food was perfect!

Loving Indian food, we wanted to experience the suble differences typical of Nepali food. The Lamb Momo was great as was the spicy aloo in a papad basket. Then onto Gorkhali Chicken, lamb Sashlick and Khasi Ko Chilli lamb. These were all beautiful nuanced dishes...More

Never had anything so I can take and unusual as their lamb speciality but you better watch out because you need to know you're going to be here and you need to place your order at least 24-hour is in advance and then they can...More

Had dinner here on a Thursday night in late June. We didn't have a booking but we managed to get a table. I would advise booking if you can as this place is popular and the food is fantastic. Good service too.

Description
Montys of Kathmandu, a multi-award winning Nepalese Restaurant in the heart of Dublin's Cultural quarter and now more recently, in the leafy suburbs of Rathgar. Montys is the first Nepalese Restaurant ever to open in Ireland specialising in the beautiful food from the Himalayan Kingdom. We make everything inhouse and do nor use any artificial additives to enhance the flavours of our food. All our chefs are natives of Nepal and it is owned by Nepalis too. We pride ourselves on giving you the customers the authentic experience, with out taking any short cuts. We source all our ingredients, where possibly locally and use the best possible available to us.
