Great restaurant with lovely atmosphere and high quality food. Service was a slight bit slow but didn't take from the fantastic food. Had the fois gras to start and it was beautiful and then steak for 2 - gorgeous meat and cooked to perfection. The beef dripped chips as a side are a great addition also. Will definitely be back.

After almost 1 year i'm finaly back in Dublin, took a chance without a reservation. The respond was wait in the bar for 5 min, then I'll just fix a table. Well 5 went to 10 then 15 after 40 min wait with at least 5 couples without reservations got a table we paid our drink and left. A really... More

Got a pint and a house Berger upstairs. For 15 euros, the burger was very poor. Small, bland, over cooked and tasted burnt. When I made my complaint I was told that this may be something to do with it the fact that it was char grilled. It's tasted burnt to me and it left a very bad taste in... More

Love this place. I was traveling alone New Year's Eve and this place was across the street from my hotel. They went out of their way to find a totally comfortable spot for me at the bar and I had a fabluous drink/steak/meal and was treated very well. When I go back to Dublin, no matter where I stay, I... Booked a table here on BH Monday. Place was busy. Greeted very nicely by the manager and shown to our table. Lovely corner by window. Studied the menu, and decided to share the chateaubriand. It was cooked to perfection, and a superb piece of meat. Choice of sides, the chestnut mushrooms were divine. Shared the brownie, which melted in the... More

We almost literally fell into the Temple Bar FX Buckley's on our last visit and loved it. So we were somewhat disappointed when we could not book a table there on this visit. But our Irish friend reassured us that the Bull and Castle lived up to the Buckley name. And that was definitely the truth! We had an excellent... More

Had a pleasant evening. The food was nice but about 20% too expensive for what essentially was very ordinary fare. Also a 12.5% service charge for 5 diners seemed unnecessary. Service was friendly, if a little slow. Small things such as condiments and salt/pepper weren't provided. I would go back if others invited me but would be unlikely to suggest... More
