As my maiden name is Sheehan, my husband and I walked to find Sheehan's from the other side of the river. It was worth the walk!
Our first visit was lunch. We each had a bowl of their Potato Soup with crispy shallots. Seriously, the best bowl of soup I've ever had! We split the amazing grilled cheese sandwich, and with the addition of a pint of Guiness (our first) we were more than satisfied!
Our second visit was dinner. My husband had the fish and chips. He couldn't have been happier, as I felt about my burger and chips. Again, the Guiness was icing on the cake.
We ate upstairs, by the way, but the bar scene downstairs looked lively and fun!
A not to be missed spot in Dublin, and close to shopping, Trinity College, and a beautiful park.
Just now trying to find a recipe that may mirror Sheehan's potato soup. Doubt I'll be able to find a comparably delicious version. Will just have to return to Sheehan's one day!

Stopped into Sheehan’s for an early lunch on a Wednesday. The pub is cosy, clean and has a lovely authentic Irish pub vibe. Good selection of beers - we had a five lamps and a rockshore, both Irish beers. Ordered sandwiches for lunch - cheese toastie and the chicken and stuffing toastie, both were hot, great portion size, with the option to add chips. Table service was very attentive and the staff were friendly. Our waitress was kind and welcoming and the governor was efficient and knowledgable. Would definitely visit again for lunch or a few drinks.

We dropped in to Sheenan's - just off Grafton St - for our final meal before returning home. It was excellent. The food included corn beef with cabbage which my wife rated highly and I had the potato soup plus a chicken sandwich which was great value at 10 euro. Both had guinness. Service was excellent and all the team made us feel at home - even better we watched an excellent win for Racing 92.

Very traditional pub with great atmosphere and typical food - not outstanding but worth the price though.
The waiter was a bit stressful, coming all the time asking if we were done and removing plates from the table when we still had food in the mouth. Come on ! We are here to relax !!

We came here on a Tuesday evening looking for a meal, but unfortunately the kitchen was closed for the day.
The welcome was so friendly from the two guys that we ended up staying for a few drinks. They even took the time to call another place they recommended to ensure they were serving food & till what time.
Lovely atmosphere & overall a great experience.

We were in Ireland for 11 days and visited our fair share of pubs in Dublin, Kilkenny, Galway, Dingle, Killarney. Sheehan’s by far had the some of the best food we had on our trip. Highly recommend the Seafood Chowder, Seafood Potato Cakes, and the Irish potato soup, all served with perfectly poured pints of Guinness and Smithwick’s Red. Great atmosphere, staff, and live music…Sheehan’s was one of the highlights of our travels across this beautiful country!

We ordered the Fish & Chips from Waiter Luke, a pleasant chap working his way through college. The steak fries came stuffed in a small chrome cup and were tasty. The fish portion was larger than most of the other restaurants--it was thick but didn't taste fresh. However, the special tartar sauce made up for it. A restaurant with a good ambience and attentive waiter but the food just didn't cut the mustard. I've had much fresher fish @ Point Loma Seafoods in San Diego. After this meal, I doubt I'll ever order fish in Dublin again.

My husband loved his corned beef, mashed potatoes, and cabbage entree. Our daughter liked her grilled chicken Caesar salad (the only light item on the menu). Fish in the fish & chips entree was excellent; they allowed me to substitute the chips for a side salad. It is warm, cozy, and did not feel touristy. The best part was the trio of live music that started at 8pm playing Irish music. I could've stayed there until 11pm (when they were scheduled to finish)!

We popped in on a whim. A happy experience. Great service with quality pub food. We had the grilled cheese sandwich with a pint of Rockshore. Food was tasty and hot, beer was delicious and cold. Our server was the perfect combo of friendly, helpful and unintrusive. Great pub!

My family stopped in for traditional Irish pub food before heading out of Dublin the following day. The food was tasty. I loved my corned beef and cabbage, my son devoured his Irish stew, and my youngest daughter loved her grilled cheese. Our only complaint was how long it took for the food to come out. All the servers were wonderful, but the wait.... oh nb the wait

We happened upon this pub because we were walking in the area. The food was amazing and the staff was friendly. It was my husband's first time in Ireland so he decided to be traditional and have the corned beef and cabbage. It was a modern take on a traditional meal but he enjoyed it thoroughly. I had the Beef and Guiness Pie. Just as good. I introduced my husband to an Irish Coffee and I ended up having two. Sooo good. We were in two short

We visited this pub one evening for food and a drink, and enjoyed the food so much that we went back the next evening and chose exactly the same things!! The place was busy, but we were able to get a table both early evenings. I had a lighter bite - fishcakes and a side salad, and my husband had the Irish Stew - and he said it was hands down the best he had ever had. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would thoroughtly recommend a visit.

Elena and Alex were awesome, I am visiting from the USA and they were more than friendly I asked a bunch of questions and they always provided insight. The drinks were top notch. If you want a specialty Teeling Whiskey made for Sheehan’ specifically come on in and enjoy the atmosphere and friendly staff. Had a great time. So happy I got to meet them. I appreciate them for letting me know the ins and outs of all the different Irish whiskeys. They rock!!! It just me trying whiskey so I paid more for better blends, I’m on vacation so I splurged a bit you can keep it under €60 easy but I wanted the upper shelf. Tipping isn’t really a thing in Ireland but that should change for this type of service. While serving customers they kept me entertained and the conversation was informative. Had a great time tonight. Thank so much Elena and Alex

Our friend was so reluctant to order the corned beef and cabbage, worried that it would be fatty, etc. Our waiter convinced him that he wouldn't be disappointed. Needles to say, he scraped his plate clean and then was looking for my husband to offer up some of his corned beef!
