Surprise night out and we arrived at Shanahan's. From the miserable faces greeting us at front of house, I knew it was going to be hard going. Curt, rude, unwilling to help, we had it all. At one point in the meal, 5 mouthfuls in, we put of knifes and forks down in the 'rest' position, one waiter poured the... More

We visited on Tuesday night just before New Years eve. I had booked the Oval Office bar downstairs because I like the ambience and the upstairs restaurant is a bit olde World in my opinion. Food is great. steaks are soft and delicious and the Onion Strings , Chive Mash and French fries are great too. The wine list is... More

Attended a work Christmas lunch on Friday 19th December. Having organised the reservation myself I knew exactly what had been organised and agreed. Upon arrival I was accused of not letting the staff know of our final numbers (which I had). We were then squeezed onto one table as a consequence even though there were many available tables. The staff... More

The food in Shanahan,s is top quality, the waiting staff in the restaurant are very knowledgeable, efficient and friendly.Unfortunately a recent weekend visit was completely spoiled by the attitude of the management. After a meal ,we decided to finish the evening in the downstairs bar, we were seated at 10.45.The bar staff informed us that one drink per customer was acceptable and then... This is my favourite restaurant (and I have eaten in quite a few!). The standard of service is fantastic and the quality of the food is first class. It is on the expensive side but well worth it. The portions are huge!! I have eaten in this restaurant on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed.

I read about this place in an interview with Will Farrell, who said it was his favorite restaurant in Dublin. Unfortunately, I read about it I think in the airline magazine on our way back, after leaving Dublin the last time. So I wanted to be sure to try to eat here sometime on another trip. I was so pleased... More

I have been lucky enough to eat in this restaurant on several occasions and it is renowned as the top steak house in Ireland. I am a keen meat eater and I really appreciate top class service so I was drawn to Shanahans. The restaurant has a fabulous location beside Stephens Green. On entry the dining are has a pretty... Visited here with family of 7....we go once a year and each year is as good as the last. It is a steak house extraordinaire! Bread and muffin to start always kick off a fab meal but be warned...don't fill up on these. We ordered 7 steaks...a mix between the filet mignon and the 24oz bone-in rib eye. All cooked... More

Went to Shanahan's twice on business, every time was better than the one before. Service was impeccable, starters were great and very generous and so was the bread. And the steaks, oh my god the steaks...cooked to perfection each and every one of them, accompanied by great selection of sides. A must visit if you're ever in Dublin.

Style, elegance, crisp white tables cloths, this place is THE place for a special occasion. I had a fillet steak which was cooked to perfection and my partner had a rib eye, also delicious. I loved the amuse-Boucher and all those little touches which make for a special time. Even by Dublin standards this is pretty pricey, but hey! We... More

Description
American Style Steakhouse and Seafood Restaurant featuring Certified Irish Angus beef and the freshest seafood and produce from Ireland's local bounty.

Shanahan's ethos is simple and sophisticated. Your experience begins upon arrival. Enjoy an aperitif in the Oval Office bar. Take a moment to inspect the impressive collection of memorabilia adorning the walls. Each item commemorates the U.S. Presidents with an Irish connection or ancestry. Marvel at the bar's centrepiece, JFK's rocking chair from Air Force One.

Dining in Shanahan's is a delight. The elegance of the food and service, is maintained in perfect harmony with the warmth, which personifies the Shanahan's team.
