My partner and I made a long overdue visit to l’Ecrivain last Saturday evening to celebrate a special milestone in our lives. We were warmly greeted on arrival by Chef-Proprietor Derry Clarke and that set the tone for a most enjoyable evening in the relaxing ambiance of the restored coach houses in which the restaurant is based. The restaurant staff... More

My partner treated me to the tasting menu with matching wines, we had an amazing time, young sommelier was excellent throughout, we really enjoyed the foie gras and rhubarb and turbot courses

Wow! What a meal! This was an incredible restaurant. Everything was perfect. The level of consistency for every dish was great, and the service was amazing. Thank you for making this such a memorable experience.

Went for lunch recently and found the food over-priced relative to the quality and staff were not at all friendly (even allowing for the fact that the restaurant was busy). The bill for water was scandalous. Won't be rushing back. Other michelin star restaurants in Dublin offer much more in terms of customer service and food quality.

My husbands favourite restaurant in Dublin. Michelin star! Courtyard setting just off Baggot St so very convenient from city centre. Divine food. Lovely understated but elegant dining room. Tasting menu or a la carte. Tasting menu is about €90pp - only available if everyone in the party wants it. A la carte is about €75. Good wine list. Lovely professional... More

Went here Saturday night with my partner for his birthday. From the minute we arrived we were attended to with a really polite and professional service. We were seated in the bar down stairs for a few minutes while waiting on our table. The bar is lovely really calm atmosphere and so was the restaurant even though it was full.... More

Food was nice, but at these prices it is bad value. We checked web site wine list before we went but they didn't have the wine. We chose another bottle but as we finished the bottle they told us they didn't have any more. So we just didn't have any more wine and they made no apology. At €250 for... More

I ate here recently on a random Thursday night as we had bought a deal on thetaste.ie for two three course seasonal meals for €75. It was amazing value and will happily return and pay full price as in essence, it's a six course meal with amuse bouche, sorbet and petit fours. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and doesn't... We took the private room 'The Kitchen' to celebrate my mothers 80th birthday and had the most fantastic time. Excellent food, wonderful ambience, exceptional staff - we had a truly memorable evening - relaxing and yet very attentive. Highly recommended - thanks to all the staff and keep it up. World class quality.
