Searching for a restaurant early last Saturday and came by the Chophouse. Given a lovely table in a busy restaurant by helpful and courteous staff. Food was superb, especially the fish but realise that this place is known for its meat. Will definitely come back

What an amazing visit, from the warm welcome to escorting us to our taxi - everything was just perfect. Days later we're still talking about the seafood starters, rib eye steaks and sticky toffee pudding...not to mention the cocktails. Thanks to Joseph and all the team for an amazing start to a great night out in Dublin. We will be... More

I'd heard lots about this place and really wanted to try it. We were bringing three kids to a game in Lansdowne and I rang a couple of days ahead to see if they were doing a lunch on a match day Saturday and could they cater for us. The guy who answered the phone first didn't know and said... More

I've passed by so many times but never been in. On a Saturday night, it was full. So we were lucky to get table when we booked the previous day. I had the duck, and dessert was pavlova and strawberry Bellini. Perfect for summers evening. Sittings on Saturday are 7 or 9. One of our party didn't eat their main... More

As we know the owner from past visits to Dublin we always call here several times. As they had Fois Gras we both tried this for starters. My wife liked it but it was sweet to me as it was prepared in a dish as a Liver Parfait with a topping. For mains my wife had fish and Chips while... More

My husband and I dined at the Chophouse on the final day of our honeymoon in Ireland. The service was very good and the food was delicious! We both had the roast rump of lamb, which was excellently seasoned with pepper and accompanied by artichoke, shiitake and garlic, as well as a cream of mushy peas. The desserts were wonderful... Matthew and the team at The Chophouse made our visit a lasting memory as we dined and drank and enjoyed the atmosphere and pleasant wait staff team. Stop in and you'll be back. Asking for a variation to a sauce was 'no problem for a visitor' and made the meal even that much better. (Heck, they even spoke NFL lingo!)

Our family trip to Dublin set us down a few blocks away. We all came without reservations, and Joseph was unflinching and got us seated. My wife and I shared the Roast rump beef special - Wow!! Nothing short of incredible! The staff was polite, courteous, and quick to respond to our desires. The meal, food, and ambiance made for... More

Good steaks and starters cooked well, but no more than that. Service friendly and efficient. Good wine list - Chablis was good, chateauneuf du pape was average (too young). Main drawback was the noise on a table of eight it was only possible to talk to your neighbours and then one at a time.

On the second visit this week, Matthew already recognized me and welcomed me in to my table before I even finishing entering the gastro. He recommended me a beer that I wouldn't have tried and it was light, sweet and the right profile for me. He remembered what I ordered a couple nights ago (!), and advised me to try... More
