We really enjoyed our trip here. Food was top notch. Lamb was excellent and the fish was great. Wife was a bit underwhelmed with the soufflé pudding but it tasted good. Nice ambience in the basement and a nice set up and staff. It's not cheap but the cooking is quality so good for a date night. Only draw back... More

Four couples for dinner and we loved it. It's fine dining without pretention. The service was just right, nor slow nor rushed. The food was excellent. And the place had a pleasant buzz. I had tuna tartar followed by a steak and then a cynamon ice cream enclosed in a chocolate "globe". My friends also thoroughly enjoyed their choices, even... More

Go Early evening. We sometimes walk in sit at bar and order starter , main or cheese and have a nice bottle of wine. It's such a treat. Give the waiter your wine preferences and budget and ask him to select a wine for you. Not to be recommended everywhere. You will be surprised, pleasantly . Our favourite dish was... More

A group of 8 went for dinner. There was nothing wrong with the place, the food was excellent but it is the up market type of restaurant that can be found in most capital cities throughout the western world. Nothing " Irish " about it so don't go if you are looking for a typical Irish night out. The cost... More

I've been to the restaurant and the town in South-West France that inspires the cuisine. The town is nothing great to see - a bit like Mallow with everyone speaking French (admittedly, that would class up Mallow a bit). The restaurant, on the other hand, is super - well worth the trip. I've been here with my partner, with groups... More

We recently went to Dax for a pre theatre meal. The service and food were of a good standard. Tasty if not quite michelin star standard. The wine is quite expensive. We suggest a good reasonably priced wine say around 20 euro or less were offered as a house wine it would attract more custom. Service was really good.

I had some French business colleagues in Dublin and decided to brink them to Dax. They were overwhelmed with the food and service. The wine was also excellent and a great night was had by all. A small part of France in Dublin.

My second visit and the food on both occasions has been absolutely delicious. Staff are so helpful and friendly that you thoroughly enjoy your whole evening. A sing song erupted the night we were there and the atmosphere is just so relaxed and enjoyable. Highly recommendable in my opinion.

Had a set lunch here recently and it was superb. Had egg starter and lamb to fallow both excellent and the service was flawless . Can't wait for my return as I'm sure Dax will be my regular spot for lunch in town
