Just very recently tried the Sunday Brunch here, it was very quiet but we did choose to arrive just as they were opening, I had not been here in some time so the layout has changed somewhat with the produce that they sell, restaurant layout...More

They are now open for Sunday Brunch from 10am to 3pm. I had a Ballycotton smoked haddock fish cake with asparagus and poached egg hollandaise. I have a glass of red wine Gassac and it went well too! It's super easy to get to as...More

I go regularly to this gorgeous restaurant. It is a gem, really. The food is amazing, the service very good, the prices reasonable, and the products for sale are fabulous and some are french and some are irish local products.

I went for lunch today at The Pig's Back and specified that I wanted a sandwich on gluten free bread. For context, I'm not fussy, I'm coeliac, and I'm also currently pregnant. Gluten is like poison to me, it causes me to be very ill,...More

Let me start by saying I loved this place in the past. But... I was there three times in the last two weeks and on each occasion the service was slow and disorganised. Staff were running around but not necessarily dealing with customers. Coffee was...More

Have visited many times and can certainly recommend the standard of and quality of the food in this restaurant. Wonderful meats, cheeses and salads along with a fine wine selection available. Each visit confirms the quality and enjoyment.

Great variety of food here with a french twist which makes it more interesting. Be careful where you sit however, as whenever the door opens there is a draft of cold air, especially in the winter.

I have visited this establishment on a few occasions and it is an interesting place to visit in that the interior is sort of quirky but there is nothing quirky about the food. I called recently for coffee in the morning and had breakfast there...More

Hello... Sorry for your unfortunate experience. Be re-assured nothing is wrong.. the opposite, we are just very busy! Thanks for your comments. And we have forwarded them to the persons concerned who are taking them into accounts. I didn't got your email. We are a small cafe with one person in the office full time, so we are doing our best to answer phone calls, but our priority is obviously customers visiting us during the day and especially at lunch time when it's rush time!. Our food is still simple, fresh and tasty, using the best possible ingredients , and on the pigs back' s products and farmhouse cheeses. We have a easy, informal and friendly service, and hopefully we will match your expectations next time. Thanks .

Description
Hi,
If you google 'On The Pigs Back, Douglas' you'll find references and pics of this new deli / cafe, which is an off shoot of the original 'On The Pigs Back' located in The English Market, Cork City and to which the url above refers. I found the Douglas West cafe / deli quite by accident as I get my Jeep serviced next door! :) This cafe / deli has only been open 2 or 3 months apparently.
Best
Mike
