Champany never really changes. Other restaurants come and go or re-launch themselves to capture the latest vibe but Champany has been exactly the same for as many years as I can remember. If you like a traditional fine dining environment and traditional service (albeit at...More

Had dinner here one Friday night and found the food to be excellent. The Cullen skink was delicious and steak was tasty although it was huge. Restaurant was busy but we never felt neglected at any point. First class service from all the staff. Quaint...More

My first visit to Champany's--famed for its steaks. Rightly so, my Popes-eye was terrific. It was huge, but delicious. I've had 2 further meals from it ex my Doggie -bag !!! Every thing else chosen by our party received plaudits. Only one snag it was very gloomy...More

Nice, quaint friendly hotel unfortunately ruined by visit to the Chop and Ale House for dinner and a substandard breakfast

The food is delicious especially their steaks. The only adverse thing I would say is that the steaks are very large if you have a small appetite. I have never finished one yet but the service is good and the plates on which the food...More

You definitely will not be the only party. If using the chop and alehouse, you may need to wait in the snug for a table. but its worth it. If eating in the main restaurant you can book. Hope you can handle your meat!
